Re: Rep Retirement #151: Stop Letting Baukin make polls!

It's HSA, I think, and that's what we have on ours. Are you Brenthoven?
No I'm not. But there is literally no benefit to having the savings account. I can't guess if I am going to spend more this year vs another year. So the extra $300 a year is worth it to me to not have to worry about it.

Re: Rep Retirement #151: Stop Letting Baukin make polls!

So again, not really a benefit unless you are putting large sums of money in to it. Which I wouldn't be. Plus you are still paying the monthly premium.
I don't know if all the plans work the same, but about 3/4 of my HSA premium is automatically deposited into my HSA account - and without making additional contributions, I had more money than the annual deductible saved within 2 years.

This was the same for me. With the plans that were offered to me, the HSA plan was by far the best deal. I pay about $35 out of every paycheck for the actual health insurance and then put another $50 from each paycheck into the HSA, and I've accumulated enough in my HSA after 4 years to cover my maximum out-of-pocket 2 times over. The company also contributes a decent sum to the HSA each January. My HSA is big enough now that I am going to slurge and use it to get Lasik surgery.

There is something so magical about watching that cup celebration that just reminds you so much what a grueling fight those guys go through to win it, and the obvious feeling that they feel like ten year olds on their outdoor ponds once again.
We both cry every year when the Cup is handed off for the first few times. Just great to watch these guys. :)

No individual health insurance for me as I'm considered the "domestic partner" of tcbg, so I'm on his health insurance. Unfortunately, I can't use his HSA, which stinks as I have the monthly prescription.

Re: Rep Retirement #151: Stop Letting Baukin make polls!

Yea, since this is not a company based insurance, I get no contribution from them. I also probably won't be on this plan more than a year.

Done with work for the day. Going to walk around the downtown of this little town and find some beer and some food.

Swedish TV is turrrble.

So, that's what the Swedes are calling it these days.

I have always wanted to go to Sweden. It would be neat to try and locate some family over there.

It would be a fun vacation, but unfortunately I won't be able to see much since I'll be working. The people are very friendly once they see that I have a Swedish last name.

Re: Rep Retirement #151: Stop Letting Baukin make polls!

Actually, no. There have been a few, but I think I'm in the UP of Sweden as far as that goes.

Guess you're going to have to hurry up and get hitched to that bum then. ;)

Me, I'm hoping to get health insurance again towards the end of the year when I get my car finally paid off. if I stick to the plan right now, I would make the last payment in January, but I'm kind of thinking of biting the bullet and write the LAST PAYMENT sometime before the clock hits 2013. Just not sure how that would affect my taxes.
