Solomon Burke -- who did the original "Everybody Needs Somebody To Love" that The Blues Brothers are famous for -- has a great country album "Nashville". You got your soul, your blues, your country, all in one. Everybody's happy! (No Eurobeat, tho'.)

I know there is a music thread but..........I am not a fan of country or rap. Both are work of the devil. ;) I like metal and rock. I also like music from the era of Zeppelin and the Beatles and I like music from the 80's especially the hairbands.

A buddy of mine has connections with a group called Mumford & Sons. When I first listened to it I almost puked. However, the more I listen to it the more I like it.

So you're a Nickelback fan. Good to know. ;)

Yeah right.......you don't know who Boxcar Willie is. He is probably headlining tomorrow night at your Hee Haw street dance thingamajig this weekend and you more than likely have a signed t shirt. If not then Google him and join the fan club. :D

Never heard of him. Craig Morgan is headlining tomorrow night, who is enough redneck himself.

At least I am not a fan of Boxcar Willie. Box. :p

This surprises me. He's an old-timer country music star. He made his fame back in the 50's. His signature bit was that during every performance he'd make this whistle/call that sounded just like a freight train whistle. My dad was a fan of his and I heard that whistle a few more times than I care to remember.

The 50's were 30 years before I was born...I grew up with George Strait, Garth Brooks, Sawyer Brown, and the early versions of Tim McGraw and Toby Keith.

So........when you went to Branson, Mo to get your twang on you never went to go see his show? ;)

Checking out the radar as I have Red Sox tickets for tonight. Already had a band of thunderstorms go by, sun came back out, now it's threatening again. Can I ever go the Red Sox game when it doesn't ****ing rain?

Stuck here at work waiting for someone to send an email list for a huge email that has to start sending out Monday at 7am. No idea when I'm going to get it, no idea where the person in who is supposed to send it. So, now I have to be on call this weekend because she didn't do her job.

I'm in a real crabby mood in case you can't tell. Part of it stems from what I know is an in-my-head slight at our department meeting this morning. Before this project is all over I would like, just once, the slightest bit of recognition for all the work I've been doing for this ridiculously huge and important project. *sigh* It's not easy being me.

Just looked it up, the place I'm going in Sweden is actually further north than Fairbanks. Oh joy.

Thanks but I need more and deeper data then they have.

My niece is a meteorologist at a local company that specializes in gathering weather data, primarily for placement of wind farms. Not sure what they charge for such data.....Wind Logics is the company name.

The older i get the more I like country music.

If I had to pick the day I would stay the latest at work I sure as hell would not pick a Friday. Beer me. Now.
