I don't even consider rap to be music, they don't even sing. And its not a young-old thing, that is a stupid thing to say. I'm from the country, I like good music, you guys are city people and like the kind of trash that makes ears bleed.
You like country music, so your statement is false, and your opinion invalidated.

If you think about it, though (which bb_dl won't--he'll just ignore all this and keep telling us we're wrong), they do come from similar starting points: Rap comes from the plights and thoughts of the inner city poor man, and country comes from the plights and thoughts of the rural poor man. At their roots, they generally talk about the same three things: money, women, and being under the influence of their chemical of choice.
/this was actually a completely off topic discussion we got in to one time in one of my American Lit classes.

Say what you want, it is still 10 times better than any of that "pop" **** that is out there that everyone listens to.

I'm not talking about where the origins are, they may touch on the same subjects, but still, the sound of the music is what I hate. I even hate the overly rap version (Brantley Gilbert) of Dirt Road Anthem (as opposed to the version that actually released by Jason Aldean), and that definitely has country lyrics.

It is very tough to find solid, reliable weather data for Baku, Azerbaijan in order to perform my load calcs.

The blues and rap have the exact same roots of mostly inner city poor people and yet the blues are phenomenal while rap sucks the high hard one.

Country sucks. The singers sound and talk funny.
Rap is not music. For sure.

Eurobeat is the way to go.

What the **** is eurobeat? I've never even heard of it. And that is probably a good thing for me.

Country doesn't suck if you're from the country. You city people just don't understand it.

I grew up in Apple Valley along the Rosemount border and attended RHS when if you lived on the eastern side of Rosemount you likely came to school from the farm and on the western side you came from a suburban neighborhood. I understand country just fine, and until around 1997/98 it was plenty fine. That's when the scene became dominated by Trace Adkins and Shania Twain. It stopped being any good and became pop music with a twang. Actual country music singers couldn't get airtime around here and that's when I stopped listening to it.

I am not a fan of "pop country". Rascal Flatts, Faith Hill, Shania, Keith Urban, etc. are not what I listen to. Eric Church is definitely not "pop country", and he's my favorite artist right now, I also wouldn't put Brantley Gilbert or Luke Bryan in that category, 2 others that I'm a fan of. I like Jason Aldean, but at times I get the impression that he drifts into the "pop country" area with some songs, but then he'll redeem himself with songs like Flyover States. I also don't like that he's not a songwriter, but the same could be said for Luke Bryan as well, since I'm pretty sure he doesn't write any songs.

Solomon Burke -- who did the original "Everybody Needs Somebody To Love" that The Blues Brothers are famous for -- has a great country album "Nashville". You got your soul, your blues, your country, all in one. Everybody's happy! (No Eurobeat, tho'.)
