It's been a goofy night. I listened to the game on the radio. EP got a short field once and threw it in for a score. Wayzata had the ball what seemed like 1,000 times in the second half and couldn't put any more points on the board than the 3 they put up at the end of the second half. A 0-0 half and both teams were averaging about 30 a game. Although Wayzata had that goofy loss to Minnetonka 3-0.

It's a good night at the Hammer Palacial Estates. I got to watch a hockey game where the local team smoked the opposition like I expected, and watched a kid have an 8 point night. Ferris got the extra shootout point over Miami, and the high school game that I almost went to went 2 OT and the team I was going to see won it. Jet's Pizza is sitting in front of me.

I was told to anticipate working on Black Friday. If I am, I hope I'm cooking something that day... first member who doesn't say "thank you" or leaves their napkin/souffle cup on my cart is getting a lapful of grease.

OK.

So tonight, one of the little 5hits I've had in class before at GHS was at the arena. He and his little buddy needed to call for a cab, 'cause they got dropped off and needed a ride somewhere, and their phones were out of minutes. I let them use mine.
Fast forward an hour or so. My phone rings with an unknown MQT cell number. It was the cab driver. Apparently the aforementioned boys jumped out of the cab without paying. I told her I was just an arena employee and only let them use my phone, and that I had no connection to the boys. She turned them over to the police, and thankfully did not give them my number.
So, Wednesday when I'm subbing for a class that kid is in, do I chew him out? 'Cause I really want to...

Mmmmm... drinking.

tell him you had to pay the cabbie $40 for the fare and to keep him (for now...) from going to the cops. if the kid doesn't pay you back, you're handing him over to the cabbie and the coppers.

Considering the police will probably talk to them by Wednesday this probably won't work unless the kid is an absolute idiot...which I guess is pretty possible...

I would also really want to; however. It's probably not your place to do so, but more than that I don't think events from one workplace should be taken to another when you and this kid are the only relevant connections. What would you really do about it, anyway?

The sad repressed grudge-holder in me says let the kid have it, but the unfortunate adult in me says just let it go. You couldn't have prevented it and you can't rectify the situation either.
