Re: Rep Lodge 80: In a row?

You are correct -- we went to the Capital City brewing company, which is near the Capitol and the Postal Museum. Stupid Capital and it's Capital-y named things. :p

Ah ha! I too was wondering why you described the Capital Grille as near Union Station. I also wondered why you would go there to eat a hamburger although they do have them.

BTW, did you go to the Postal Museum?

I was trying to figure what to big deal was about the Capital Grille. I mean, the place we went was nice and food was good (and largely portioned), but nothing to write home about.

We didn't. We didn't spend much time exploring the city (just Friday night, late to get some night shots of the monuments). DC is another city I'd like to get back to and spend some real tourist time in.

Re: Rep Lodge 80: In a row?

We just had a tornado or funnel cloud across the freeway from our office. There was debris swirling around and the church across the highway lost part of its steeple and is without power. Sirens went off about 15 minutes after it happened.

Yikes!

Did you go to the basement? ;)

Weather radar for cityslickerville looks pretty intense. Be safe.

Here in 320land it has not rained since about 3 AM. Really feels like fall outside.

Just the fact that you emntioned the Postal Museum made me wonder if you went there. It isn't one of the big tourist attractions, so it surprised me.

If you have looked it up, the Capital Grille is an expenive steak restaurant chain. I have never eaten there. Capitol City Brewing is a local brew pub chain.

Did you post the pictures you took? I know you did from the posters game.

We didn't go to the museum, but it made an impression on me that there was one.

I did end up looking it up after reading bb_dl's post and suffering the same confusion.

I didn't post the monument ones as they were victim to hard drive failure. :(

No basement in our building. We went to first floor and an area with no windows. Our building is precast concrete - so long as we're away from the floor-to-ceiling glass it's pretty safe.

My desk is 5' from those windows looking in the direction of the funnel. I was talking with someone away from the windows when I heard the commotion and someone saying "TORNADO!" I looked out and saw debris swirling in the air and headed for the stairwell along with everyone else.

The Postal Museum is part of the Smithsonian. It used to be in their Museum of American History, but when USPS moved a lot of their functions out of that building which was the main DC Post Office, the Smithsonain decided that it would be a great place to expand into. The museum isn't that large.

Did you happen to see any cows swirling in the debris? Or at a bare minimum Goldy Gopher? :D

FWIW I hope there are no injuries.

The sirens went off here, we were in the "take cover area" for about 20 minutes then they called the all clear announcement. Got back to my desk, looked at the fishwrap-west website and read that the most dangerous part of the storm was in Columbia Heights heading north towards Fridley, Blaine, Coon Rapids, etc. Nice of them to call "all clear" right before the storm gets to us.
Not that it matters, it would take more than a tornado to do damage to the concrete, windowless box that I work in.:p

I visited the postal museum during my first trip to DC, about 10 years ago, I enjoyed it alot.

Re: Rep Lodge 80: In a row?

Whee sirens! Tornado warning until 4:15. Well north and west of me. Sucks for Forest Lake and up though.

Re: Rep Lodge 80: In a row?

Hey, I love it. I can't wait until football season. :)
Only another 2 weeks for me.
Hookers qualify as furniture now?
Well, have you seen Bruno yet?? ;)

So if I get a delivery error on the e-mail I sent wishing the ex-bf a happy birthday, is that a sign that I should just completely cut him out of my life? I used the wrong e-mail address, it was the first one that came up when I started typing his name, it's not like he changed it to avoid me.

I was going to try using him to help me move (he did offer way back when). However, I might feel bad using him for another favor considering the only time I've seen him since the break-up in May was for him to drive me to the airport for my China trip. :o
Might be better to not use him. Wouldn't want to send him mix signals.

It is a great name.

So stupid co-worker left me a voicemail and ended with saying, "gimme a shout or throw a rock my way". Does these mean it would be ok to throw a rock at him? I think I would enjoy that.
I've got a bunch of rocks here that you could use, good baseball size ones, they would get great distance on them. ;) :D

There are 12 threads with "Favre" in the title http://board.uscho.com/search.php?searchid=641860 and none have been closed.
Whats this about Farve going to the Vikings?? Somebody should have really started a thread about it.

Morning Lodge.

How was your social?

I ended up going to Ashley's (finally). Great place in Ann Arbor with 70+ beers on tap. I may have tried 4 of them. :o mmm. Then walked to the Michigan Union which is still nice and empty since school hasn't started. Friends and I played board games, and I found a piano to play around on for a little while (but it was horribly out of tune).

Hopefully I can survive today at work. Then it's Trivia Wednesday tonight. :)
Oh, should have gave you a call last night, was at the Briarwood movies yesterday night to see Star Trek for 50 cents. Then went up to the Brown Jug for a burger there.
