Yeah, so far - don't jinx it. This is my last night shift for a week (much rejoicing).

We're entertaining friends tomorrow and Friday night. There should be some good imbibing going on, all for the mere price of some housecleaning tomorrow afternoon. Not a bad deal!

I just found out that I can rent X-C skis for $50 the whole week when I go up to Alaska in October. Now I just hope the snow is there when I am!

I got up at 6:45, yeah, its not that early compared to when some people around here wake up, but I really miss the days from college when I didn't have morning classes and I got to sleep until 11:00.

I miss the days when I slept until noon.

I'm told that I should come in here and whore myself out for rep. I didn't know if I had that in me, but evidently I do. Currently at 1,649,384,758.

Coffee ice cream? I haven't had that in awhile; need to see if I can find some!

Hagen Dazs makes a good coffee ice cream, but not quite as good as the local shop in our neighborhood. Nevertheless give HG a try. Pretty good.

And if push comes to shove, as a health care worker I'm first in line for the vaccine if I wish to get it (or if Changey McHopealot forces me to.)

Merely working in a hospital does not make you a healthcare worker.

The only reason you'd get the vaccine would be due to the fact the VA would offer it to all its employees so people like housekeeping and such wouldn't infect those of us actually responsible for the patient care.

I had my alarm set for 6:42 this morning. I woke up at 9:57. Just a bit late to work.

About 30 minutes until BPH picks me up to head to the airport. I crashed out at 8:30 last night (!!) to try and get 8 hours sleep. Failed. Woke up at midnight, then had the hour sleep/hour awake thing going until 4:30.

So you say you'd like a little cool air in your lab these days? And you'd prefer that those hoods in the lab would suck air in, rather than randomly blow it out into your face? Then you might wanna be a little nicer to the Facilities and Engineering folks there at the VA.

Funny you should say that given that this has been an ongoing problem most of this summer (despite the fact it hasn't been a very hot summer). Engineering has epic-failed.

I only use one of those things, and most of the time, it's not even essential.

Being "nicer" and being dishonest are two different things. F&E people are not healthcare workers. Period. That'd be like housekeeping or food services claiming to be healthcare workers.
