I FOUND MY KEYS!!!!!

Walking back from breakfast, MNS looks down at the sidewalk and says, "Uh, are these your keys?" They were. Then BPH looks in the middle of the street, and sees my other set of keys.

ARE YOU *ING KIDDING ME?! So now all I'm out is my jacket and some smokes. But AFAIK, there's only one of those jackets in town right now, very identifiable. I hope to still get it back. :D

You're a lucky rube. :D

You're a lucky rube. :D

We were walking back from Suomi's, and instead of walking up the hill to Monetzuma right away, we decided to head to the Travelodge to coordinate with the main Gopher group. Then instead of cutting through the hotel, we continued to walk up the death hill by the Chinese restaurant, where the keys were found. So, if we didn't go that particular way, who knows?

Either way, I'm pretty darn ecstatic right now.

Re: Rep Lodge 125: The Thanksgiving Dinner Version: Gimme Some More...

Like everyone else who frequents this site on a regular basis, I too, have experienced frustrations during the period in which changes were made to USCHO. As a result of e-mail contact with someone in a position to know, I am in receipt of some information regarding the changes which have been made to the site. Before I pass along that information elsewhere in this post, I think it behooves everyone to understand that USCHO is working on a limited budget and with what may fairly and accurately be described as a skeletal staff. This site is far more "a labor of love" than it is a money-making-venture.

Is the site perfect in its present form? Perhaps not. Speaking only for myself, I choose to applaud the ongoing efforts of USCHO to provide timely information about many facets of college hockey I, and others, enjoy. It may be there are aspects of the format, content or site operation that visitors don't like. Please take a moment to consider the stark alternative of USCHO's choosing to cease operation rather than electing to introduce upgrades as time and money allows.

I'm glad the site exists and chooses to persevere in the face of adverse shortages of manpower and capital.

Here is some information, in italics, regarding the changes which have been made to USCHO in recent weeks/months.

===>Last weekend we increased the memory in our server and improved the network connectivity. It made a big difference on Saturday. We've also placed an order for a brand new server that is far more powerful than what we have and should handle the load without breaking a sweat. It will have three times the memory and a processor that's about 20x the speed of what we have now. That's huge. Had we had the higher capacity server from the start, all this hassle could have been avoided. But that is water under the bridge. The network speed increase applies to the Fan Forum as well. Our traffic continues to increase each year. We're on a pace on the main site to serve 100 million pages this year.

We really have needed to upgrade for a couple of years, but 2008 and 2009 were terrible years for internet advertising and we just couldn't afford the investment.

People get the idea we have this large staff, but nobody is full-time and our annual editorial budget probably would be the starting salary for a junior reporter on a small town paper. And that's after increasing it substantially this year.

Re: Rep Lodge 125: The Thanksgiving Dinner Version: Gimme Some More...

Thanks for the info, ASaaG.

I think that we all knew that USCHO isn't a great moneymaking endeavor. I greatly appreciate the efforts that the people who work for USCHO put into the site, especially considering the lack of information that existed before the internet. I also understand, after Ed T explained it, why the changes were made at this time instead of in the summer, and clearly, USCHO isn't to blame for the changes to vBulletin.

My major complaint remains the fact that we were not informed in advance that the changes were to happen. Are we required to be told of this -- definitely not, but it would have been nice to know.

Afternoon, Lodge. Fell down the some of the stairs today while carrying the littlest. Managed to protect her core (chest, stomach, etc.), but she hit her head a bit hard. After the initial shock, she's fine (did a quick basic physical - arm circles, raise arms, lower arms, jump, kick legs, felt ribs, checked head for bruising, etc) and now she's running around and talking and laughing. I have a welt the size of a softball forming on my left thigh and feel like crap. Oh to be 20 (months) again! :(

Will be at whatever table has more people tonight since we've only got a game tomorrow down the road 11 miles against Clarkson.

Started getting some minor back spasms last night, then just felt like a tweaked lower back today, but I can feel some minor spasms popping up now and then tonight again. Dunno what I did, but I wish I didn't do it.

Sitting at the who knows table. SOG 10v25 yet we r tied@ 2. Horrifyingly hardly leaving our end. Have a crick in my neck. Thank goodness we switch ends every period

* Hockey. Another period to go too, and it will no doubt be a complete abortion.

The infamous paperbag is that much closer to putting in an appearance at the GLI this season.

Re: Rep Lodge 125: The Thanksgiving Dinner Version: Gimme Some More...

does not appear BU will go unbeaten this year...

If I were into wearing paper bags mine would be on so often this season I doubt I could take it off :(

Evening, Lodge. Not sure which hockey table I'm sitting at tonight, but either way, I could use a stiff drink.

Re: Rep Lodge 125: The Thanksgiving Dinner Version: Gimme Some More...

* hockey table for me, too. I guess BU worked on not tying in practice this week. And it worked.

Re: Rep Lodge 125: The Thanksgiving Dinner Version: Gimme Some More...

Sitting waiting for Mr. to get done. Sigh. It has been a long day

Re: Rep Lodge 125: The Thanksgiving Dinner Version: Gimme Some More...

Happy hockey table for me as well. Goddammit, after the week I've had, I need a drink.

Re: Rep Lodge 125: The Thanksgiving Dinner Version: Gimme Some More...

Happy everything table for me. Gophers win, Wild win, Gopher basketball beat UNC, Badgers lost, gopher football doesn't play. What could be better?

Re: Rep Lodge 125: The Thanksgiving Dinner Version: Gimme Some More...

I don't even get the satisfaction of the Wings winning. Everything is just *ing peachy here in 248-ville.

Re: Rep Lodge 125: The Thanksgiving Dinner Version: Gimme Some More...

Denver--3
Bemidji--1

Denver received another strong performance in goal from freshman Sam Brittain, who started his tenth consecutive game in goal. After allowing a goal on Bemidji's first shot of the game Brittain didn't allow another score.

One oddity in the game was that in each period neither team registered a shot on goal until the sixth minute of play. Denver is finishing exam week--which concludes tomorrow morning--and the team certainly lacked the offensive effectiveness it showed last Saturday against Mankato when the Pioneers scored six goals.

The Pioneers have won three in a row and five of six. The team tries for a second consecutive sweep tomorrow against Bemidji.
