Re: Rep Lodge 125: The Thanksgiving Dinner Version: Gimme Some More...

Morning Lodge.

No extended vacation for me. Instead, next week I will get to drive ~6 hours up and 6 hours back to a project in EBF NoDak. Middle of freaking nowhere, go to Jamestown, hang a right and drive another hour. Basically two days shot to do a 4 hour punch list, argh! I have to go out and find a couple good books on CD this weekend for that drive. I am not a happy roadtrip person. I barely tolerate driving medium distances, this one is too long for me. I also have to stop every hour or so to get out and stretch my back so it doesn't seize up on me.

Another hockey team party tonight though. Parents and kids this time. Should be fun.

Good morning, Lodge! Lots of papers to grade before the Thanksgiving Break, and let me tell you, grading essays can make one doubt his worth as a teacher. Here are some of my favorite bits from last semester:

...succumbence to the attack...
...freeing the Communist states under the Iron Current.
...the costs of losing the war were more than the benefits.
In conclusion, the South would have won the war if the North would not have prevailed.
By swiftly defeating the Russians the Germans could have quickly acquired Laban's Realm in the East.

I'm pretty that last kid meant Lebensraum.

Everyone have a goood Friday!

Re: Rep Lodge 125: The Thanksgiving Dinner Version: Gimme Some More...

Hanen't had this happen to me yet.

Yum. I want the baked oatmeal recipe!!

Good morning boys and girl!

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!! friday has arrived. yay!
The oatmeal recipe is on my FB page in the "links" section.

Ugh. Time to get ready for work...

Morning, Lodge. Found out this morning that one of my applications for nursing school is much more complete than I thought, which is a relief, and I think I got a 1$ raise? My paycheck was more than it should be and I don't think I worked more hours than normal... Looking forward to the hockey game tonight at the Whitt (though I couldn't find any of my jerseys this morning... ), particularly since I hadn't planned on going, initially. Making a roast chicken for the family I work for tonight, which always makes me happy (except when I go to put the bird in the pan and never remember which side goes up... :o ). I like the process of putting the butter/oil mixture on the bird, then the herbs, making sure to baste and check the temp. Makes me feel home-y (as opposed to homey... :p, not sure too many homeys make roast chicken).

Re: Rep Lodge 125: The Thanksgiving Dinner Version: Gimme Some More...

Only 6 weeks left until a veeeeeeeeeery extended vacation.

6 months until what will hopefully be a veeeeeeeeery successful career.

So, I've come to the conclusion that the Napping Gods feel the need to let EVERYBODY in the world know when I intend to take a nap, since EVERYBODY decides that is the best time to come knocking on my door, generally to ask me stupid questions that could be much better asked by somebody lower on the "chain of command" than I. That, or they want forms signed by me 6 days in advance of when they are needed as opposed to just placing the **** form in the folder I have outside my door for that very same purpose. I might need to hammerpunch some of these minions.

Yo. Cloudy and blah in the remote village of Houghton.

Looks like I'm gonna miss the luncheon because some jack bag took my jacket last night in a drunken stupor (we think we know who it is). I don't give a sh* about the actual jacket. I want all the keys that are in there. Yeah. So, right now I'm stranded at a buddy's, close enough to the YLPOSAI to feel even more rage.

I may just start drinking now.

Not. *ing. Happy.

I'll ask. I presume that YLPOSAI refers to the bridge between Hancock and Houghton, so I guess that YL means "Yooper Loop". POS probably means "Piece of ****". Any help for AI? (It assume that it isn't "Artifiical Intelligence".)

Sorry about the keys.

I think the A is for abortion and you have the rest right.

Yooper Looper Piece Of Sh* Abortion Intersection (they should name it the Loopy Cu*) is the full official name of the intersection, spoken by me the first time we encountered it (and ended up in Hancock). I was not happy with that intersection.

And we're wrong about where my keys are, I may do something to end up in jail. I have no idea right now. I'm that f*ing mad.

Hey Perfesser, Based on the snippets of prosaic expertise you've provided for our perusal, it seems you're continuing to do your usual less than stellar job of educating America's next round of Rhodes scholars. [Or should that be Roads scholars?:D]

Happy Thanksgiving!

You should burn down Yager's house.

You should burn down Yager's house.

What is funny is that the Midget's old house is next door. Ah, the memories of the snowbank toss, the Dirty toss, and the Geist Death Hill Wipeout (which MNS recreated last night, unintentionally).

Re: Rep Lodge 125: The Thanksgiving Dinner Version: Gimme Some More...

Afternoon, Lodge. Fun times in Houghton! I hope I don't need to spring Brent's bail by Sunday. :D

Re: Rep Lodge 125: The Thanksgiving Dinner Version: Gimme Some More...

They don't have jail in Houghton, they just don't let you leave the UP.

That sucks. Hope you find them!

So, my camera is broken. Went to see the Geek Squad at Best Buy, where I bought it. My service plan expired in August, of course. The guy said it's not worth it to fix. Thankfully Christmas is a-coming.

I FOUND MY KEYS!!!!!

Walking back from breakfast, MNS looks down at the sidewalk and says, "Uh, are these your keys?" They were. Then BPH looks in the middle of the street, and sees my other set of keys.

ARE YOU *ING KIDDING ME?! So now all I'm out is my jacket and some smokes. But AFAIK, there's only one of those jackets in town right now, very identifiable. I hope to still get it back. :D
