Quinnipiac Bobcats 2024-25 - Meet me in St. Louis!

i'd love for more of the players to look for their own shots. sometimes we are so unselfish that we're giving up a good opportunity for the extra pass. the only players i see out there looking for the shot are borgula, hockely, and ricketts

Wilmer doesn't like to pass either.

They've all been guilty of passing when there's a shot to be taken. Lots of odd man rushes have been victim of that. Throw it on net and hope for a rebound if it doesn't go in.

Good news was the six point weekend is what we needed. However, both games seemed to be mirrors of each other. Too much passing in the offensive zone. I have to admit I was yelling during the 2nd period of both games. :) Huge weekend to potentially clinch the Cleary Cup if Clarkson loses a game. Go Bobcats!

Looks like you guys are peaking at the right time !
Hopefully but the scores this weekend are a little smoke and mirrors. It does seem like some are finally buying into the system. However, I still don't trust them in a tight game/OT. They need to play better against the "C" schools to win the Whitelaw.

YALE BEATEN

Not the best performance, but a professional performance. Enough to get the job done without too much fanfare. Now to move on to the hardest game on our schedule -- the Brown home game after all the Yale fanfare.

Yet Another Losing Effort.

I legitimately can't believe how long Keith Allain has lasted there. He was hired in 2006. I know he won a national title, but the consistent run of losing since then ... I guess the answer is that they were doing fine before COVID and just haven't recovered, but it's been four years now. At some point he needs to get them back off the mat.

And yes, I love our dominance against Yale. I just wish we never lost the big one in 2013. Absolutely feels like the rivalry hasn't been the same since that game, and rightfully so. They never beat us, except in that game. Sports have a sense of humor.

Huge 3 point weekend. We control our own destiny to capture the Cleary. A win in the North Country next weekend seals the deal.

Unfortunate to lose Bohlinger against Yale on a blatant knee on knee hit that wasn't called but Blace and Benoit stepped in and up against Brown. Hopefully his injury is not too severe and he can make it back by the quarter finals March 14th.

I thought both goalies were great. And I thought Rand taking Silvy out with a shutout working to get Altman in on Senior night was a classy gesture. Noah has been a fan favorite and deserved it.

I ❤️ this:

Quinnipiac has also edged up to 13th in the Pairwise, which puts them in what's expected to be the final at-large bid in the tournament. If they finish 14th or lower, they will likely need to win the ECAC Tournament to get to the Dance.

I'm not sure we can afford to not win in Placid. Any loss from here on out likely puts us on or below the PWR cut line.

They seem to be playing their best and at the right time. Just keep the hammer down and take care of business. They control there own destiny.

Just looking at your results this month you guys are getting it together, will be a tough out in Placid ! My team(Gate) is going the other way the last two weeks. I might be concerned about how badly the shots were against Cornell where you were badly outshot. (unless they were mostly perimeter shots and not many good chances). Clarkson will give you a good barometer of where Q-Pac stands this weekend, they have gotten it together also.

Colgate is still our bogey team so they are the last team I want to face in Lake Placid.

No affiliation with Yale at all, but from what I understand, he hasn't been able to get the players he used to and I don't get the impression Yale has a particularly great AD, either. I do think he's still one of the better coaches in the league, but it can't be easy given the Ivy roadblocks and being a school not named Cornell or Harvard. There used to be a somewhat active Yale thread here but there hasn't been one for a while now

Doesn't seem to be a problem at the other Ivy's. If the Yale degree isn't good enough what else is there?

Their AD doesn't care about hockey from what I've heard.

He's never impressed me as a coach but that's admittedly through my blue & gold colored glasses. A better coach should have a better record. He had a good season or two after the Natty in 2013 and has done nothing since. I had thought he might just be sticking around to coach his son but the kid's gone now.

And, again, the other Ivy's (Dartmouth, Princeton and even Brown) seem to be rebounding.

I've heard that many of their "hockey" fans bailed and went to Quinnipiac or Sacred Heart. I know one of the regulars that posted frequently retired and moved to Florida during or right after COVID.

I'm hoping Quinnipiac's 0.1 buzzer beating loss to UConn doesn't cost us a tournament bid. Had QU tied or lost in OT, our pairwise goes to 11.

Sweep the weekend and get to Placid, you're in either way. LP is a house of horrors for the Q, we all know that, so stumble and the conference gets two bids. The college hockey world screams and yells, especially Hockey East, which makes me happy. Schafer wins the Whitelaw and gets to the dance! :)
