Quinnipiac Bobcats 2024-25 - Meet me in St. Louis!

Since Chip McDonald was fired from ECAC officiating duties never complained about the refs…..worst officials ever in this game. What a BS call from these adult over 40 league officials. Totally dominated that basketball school

Such a bad loss. We have lost a bunch of games this year taking stupid penalties late. I knew it was over at that point.

Offense is so frustrating. They need to take more shots. Credit to UCONN, they played great and deserved to win.

What game were you watching? Quinny was clearly the better side. The better team lost. The refs are on their way back to Storrs

Congrats to UConn on winning this year's CT Ice Tournament. After 3 straight years of losing to QU in the finals, they wanted this championship badly.

With the exception of Yale, I thought all the teams played great this weekend and the fans were treated to some exciting hockey. Yes, the on-ice officiating was pretty bad. In fact, it was VERY bad. That was probably the only negative all weekend. SHU did a fantastic job in hosting the tournament and their new arena is absolutely stunning. Big shoutout to Charlie Dowd, Steve Conn and everyone at SHU. Bravo!

The good news, after all of this, is our Pairwise didn't suffer too much after the weekend split. Right now, QU is #13 and we're still in the hunt for an at large berth. Since we're not playing any more opponents ranked ahead of us, this makes every remaining game crucial.

18 years ago today, Quinnipiac played its first hockey game at "The Bank." The Bobcat men (led by captain Reid Cashman) beat Holy Cross 7-0 and hockey legend Gordie Howe dropped the ceremonial first puck.

The New York Times wrote this piece in 2007 about our new arena: Arena Fit for Quinnipiac’s Ambition - The New York Times

That was some weekend. All four teams played over two days. Think I was in the building for about 24 hours over that span with student media. Great memories.

That building made me a fan. Prior to that Sunday I had only seen the inagural ECAC game against Hardvard at the Civic Center in 2005. I still find it hard to believe I've only missed two games in that building (thanks COVID). It's become my second home from October through March

To see where they've progressed since then has been absolutely amazing to witness.

The latest NCAA Bracketology has us as a #3 seed in Toledo Regional.

Yes, it's still early but it's fun to see where we'd be if the season ended today. Personally, I still think we need to win the Whitelaw to get in.

On a related note, good to see 3 CT teams battling for a spot in the NCAA tournament. We've never seen more than 2 teams from CT in the same tournament (QU and Yale in 2013, 2015 and 2016). SHU and UConn have both never been to the tournament, which still surprises me.

The initial bracket for us would be a tough region. The current Toledo bracket much better. I agree we need to win the Whitelaw to get in so it's going to be tough. Manchester bracket would be crazy if that holds. I saw Denver, Cornell, Western Michigan and BU in Manchester 2 years ago and those were fun games. I also made it to Bridgeport both days so those were even better. :)
