Quinnipiac Bobcats 2023 Off-Season: The View from the Top

'Tis better to be the target-ee rather than the target-er...

Absolutely, but it comes with a lot of difficulties. You will always get your opponent's best effort, visiting games are more likely to be packed with more raucous crowds giving the home team more advantage, referees will call you more closely, other schools will be more active in going after your recruits or telling them why not to go there, scheduling becomes more of a challenge as certain teams avoid you or only want you at home and repeating is far more difficult than winning the first one.

This is all worth winning the championship.

President Biden had a root canal this morning, so Vice President Harris is doing the event instead.

Confirming the theory that people would rather have root canal than try to say "Quinnipiac."

Has the 2023-2024 schedule been finalized yet? I got an email from Princeton (since I usually go to the game there every year as well), but haven't received anything from QU (and the website has not been updated yet). I usually go to a few road games and and trying to plan ahead. We went to UND last year and had a good time in Fargo and Grand Forks.

Nothing yet as far as I've seen. Was told at the banquet that the banner raising will be at the first home game (10/6?) against BC.

Paul, are you the guy with the cowbell? If so, we sat near each other at RPI this past season.

There's talk on the UNH thread that we're tentatively playing the Wildcats on the road for two games October 20-21. If that's true, I'll likely make the trip up to Durham for that series.

Also, Joe Dumais confirmed 2 against Maine at home. Likely in October.

Unfortunately that is not me. Although I do love some cowbell. ;) My brother retired to Maine (lives about 30 minutes from Orono) but missed that trip since it was the weekend after UND. I hope we get back there soon. I have an office in Merrimack, NH so I would definitely do the UNH series if it happens. Was hoping for a series with another NCHC team but it seems those are hard to come by. Penn St would be fun since my wife is an alumni.

QU will host LIU in Dec. - I think it was 12/9

11 without the exhibition game. 22 conference games. 33 games total, then there's the allowance for in-season tournaments, which will alllow us to play CT Ice.

Right, I counted 2 for the CT ice to get 13 nonconf games so that's 35 games total not counting the exhibition game. They don't have any exemption games. The only thing I can possibly think of is the game v Yale at CT ice will actually be a conf game instead of a nonconf game?
