Quinnipiac Bobcats 2023-24 Regular Season - Embrace the grind

Still the B1G killer!

Great game even with the sloppy start to the 2nd. Hung in and got it done.

Now it's time to get some redemption against the boys from Chestnut Hill.

Go Q!

I am a little surprised we are the later game with the 2 day gap. Last year in Bridgeport we were the top seed in the bracket and played the 2nd game. I figured BC would want a big crowd at night. Let's hope the team re-groups this week and rebounds similar to last year. Looking forward to seeing others there as well.

Or the other factor is if you play first there’s the rest factor between games and certainly the game looked full almost in attendance but with the day in between it may not matter

before it was back to back days

but no matter BC still had a sizable crowd no matter early or late game today

parking was horrendous

This program is so damn impressive. Four straight wins against the B10 in the NCAA Tournament is so ridiculously impressive.

John Tortorella says this, and it fits this team. They have "balls as big as the building."

That was a really hard game. We could have folded after that disastrous first 5 minutes of the 2nd period. We could have been nervous about defending the national title. One mistake ends your season, and Vinny was absolutely immense in that game. Full marks to him. That was a big-boy win from the goalie right there. Great, great stuff.

That was such an impressive win. Our style works so well in the playoffs, and has for years. When the boys buy in, we can beat anyone. BC is on a different level than everyone else this year, but that's what they said about Michigan and Minnesota last year. Why not us? Looking forward to a great game on Sunday. Should be another really fun one.

We arrived in Providence just before noon and got a great spot on the first level of the South garage. Got some lunch and then into the games. What time did you get there and where did you park? Or was your issue leaving? Pre-pay ticket machine wasn't scanning the tickets so it was slow getting out. Then they had no police to keep the traffic flowing closer to 95.

As you mentioned it was a mostly BC crowd (great fans - had fun interacting with them). I do agree it makes sense to play first. Only negative is to make sure the team is ready since they are not used to playing at that time. I've seen quick a few teams in regionals slow to start.

Although a great location for a regional, I forgot they have the worst men's rooms and slow concessions. How can you have only 3 urinals in the men's rooms? First time I have ever seen no lines for womens bathrooms and men's deep into the concourses.

For me, leaving the parking garage was an ordeal. I too got there early and had no problems getting in. I just wish they would collect the parking fee as you enter as opposed to having people pay from just 2 parking meters after the game. What a line that was!

Other than that, I agree that Providence is a great regional host. Easy to get to, good surrounding restaurants/bars, clean arena, etc.

Getting out of the garage I was in was a trainwreck as well. I never realized how small the councourses are at this place. The lines for concessions and men's rooms were creating grid-lock not to mention bozos just standing around in the way and clogging it up. Pretty annoying. I was surprised to see so many people in the building when I arrived at 1:45ish. Great turnout for the day considering it was two teams from the West.

I don't believe BC has won two in a row in this building going back to the 2000 Frozen Four so Quinnipiac has history going for them.

Problem was I didn’t have time with the game starting and I usually go early just to find a cheap spot

My most painful one was when North Dakota beat us 4-2 and Gionta was on that team / after that heartbreaking triple OT loss to Michigan in 1998

I believe the last time BC made it to the Frozen Four was in 2016, and you defeated them in the semifinals. I believe the time before that was 2014, and we beat them in the finals. I saw BC play twice this year. This BC team is awesome. They are certainly better than the 2014 team we faced despite the remarkable "Johny Gaudreau line." This could easily be the best BC team in the last decade. Good luck today. The ECAC will be pulling for you.

My goodness noooo. “You either die a hero or live long enough to become the villain.” Quillan with the empty net miss of the century in the 3rd and the beauty, tape to tape assist in overtime. How painful. And who was it that didn’t get the puck deep on BC’s 4th goal… was it Graf? I’ll forever be grateful for the joy those two brought, but you hate to see a lazy play (goal 4) followed by simply of the worst hockey play you’ll ever see (OT goal) to send you home for the year. That last play was up there with the BU goalie who threw the puck is his own net during the title game against Providence.

as an aside… it gets a bit farcical when the refs start making such soft calls as they did in the 2nd. Leonard is a great player, but my goodness with the theatrics.

at least it’s not this bad… https://youtu.be/ZoyHUVWdHLw?si=TiWDtvkjPKXQ7iHc

Fillion missed the open net in the 3rd.

Great game. Great season. Nothing to be ashamed of.

I think we defended our championship well.
