I don't think I'm ever falling asleep tonight. I just can't believe it. I'm so happy for so many people at Quinnipiac.
Former AD Jack McDonald: This was his vision. This was his dream. He brought Quinnipiac to D-1 and made the decision to make hockey the biggest team on campus. We are not at this spot without his incredible leadership all those years. He built this.
All the other people in athletics administration like Billy Mecca. How about Bill Schweizer, who called our games on radio/ESPN+ for so many years before retiring a few years ago. The reason alums like me feel so passionately about Quinnipiac is the incredible personalities and people who work there. Jack, Billy, Schweiz, Eric G. in ticketing, everyone in athletics administration was just top class, friendly, and made Quinnipiac feel like home.
And of course, Rand. My god I'm so happy for Rand. No one deserves it more than him. That guy has worked so hard for this program, for this University, and for all of us. We're so blessed to have him leading our program, and I am just over the moon excited for him.
This is the sports thing I've wanted most for the last 20 years. Since I came onto campus I've been dreaming about what this moment would feel like. It's better than I ever imagined it would be. I can't believe we actually did it. This feeling isn't going to go away for a very long time. I have to travel out of town this week so I'm going to miss the celebrations -- According to a QU alumni email, there's an event today at 1:45 when they get back to the arena, then another celebration on Monday.
This is insane. We won the national championship. QUINNIPIAC WON THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!
Today and forever, a great day to be a Bobcat.
