Quinnipiac Bobcats 2022-23: The Quest Continues...

Thanks to all!

I can't believe we won the whole damn thing!

What a team... they never gave up all season, and never gave up tonight!

2022-23 Quinnipiac Bobcats - National Champions!

Thanks to all the fans for the congrats! What a WIN! So proud of this program. So happy for Coach Pecknold. 3rd time really was the charm! I can't stop watching the replay of the OT goal and celebration!

Ouch. Having to watch this when I got home from work, and after getting the toddlers to bed, I knew the game was going to OT, since my DVR extended past the allotted time for the game. So, when Minnesota was ahead at the end, I knew that Q had to tie it. Seeing the DVR end 5 minutes after the game came back, and how little ESPN cares about college hockey to not show any of the celebration, I knew the OT would be quick. Just didn’t know who. Well, it was Q that ended it quick. Ouch.
Great game, Q. Y’all never strayed from your game plan. You deserved that championship.

Congratulations Quinnipiac fans!! I swear when MN scored first on that miscue you guys were done for. Glad you made a game of it. Enjoy!!

and now the state of Connecticut has national champions in hockey and basketball!

The difference in talent was debatable, but probably tilted towards MN...

The difference in conditioning was a no-brainer, just as it was vs. Michigan.

Hats off to The Q.

National Champions!!!
So happy for Bobcat Nation. It has been so much fun being a Bobcat fan the past 9 years. The past week and a half has been amazing.
Minnesota was definitely the best we have seen all year, but QU culture and buy in wins the day. I must also add that Bob Motzko is a class act. I really enjoyed listening to his interaction with the media this week.
He is now my second favorite NCAA hockey head coach.

Nobody in the west believed in the Q all season. Ohio State-check, Michigan-check, Minnesota-check, and the BIG$$ is left with poop running down their leg. Priceless!

Nice road win!

The BC radio announcers were brutal to us tonight. Basically calling Quinnipiac a "low budget" program that will never win a National Championship. They trashed our program, Coach Rand and the ECAC.

Now is a good time to revisit this post from early October.

I'm calling out these Boston College radio announcers for their comments about us. How do you like us now? National Champs, baby!

I don't think I'm ever falling asleep tonight. I just can't believe it. I'm so happy for so many people at Quinnipiac.

Former AD Jack McDonald: This was his vision. This was his dream. He brought Quinnipiac to D-1 and made the decision to make hockey the biggest team on campus. We are not at this spot without his incredible leadership all those years. He built this.

All the other people in athletics administration like Billy Mecca. How about Bill Schweizer, who called our games on radio/ESPN+ for so many years before retiring a few years ago. The reason alums like me feel so passionately about Quinnipiac is the incredible personalities and people who work there. Jack, Billy, Schweiz, Eric G. in ticketing, everyone in athletics administration was just top class, friendly, and made Quinnipiac feel like home.

And of course, Rand. My god I'm so happy for Rand. No one deserves it more than him. That guy has worked so hard for this program, for this University, and for all of us. We're so blessed to have him leading our program, and I am just over the moon excited for him.

This is the sports thing I've wanted most for the last 20 years. Since I came onto campus I've been dreaming about what this moment would feel like. It's better than I ever imagined it would be. I can't believe we actually did it. This feeling isn't going to go away for a very long time. I have to travel out of town this week so I'm going to miss the celebrations -- According to a QU alumni email, there's an event today at 1:45 when they get back to the arena, then another celebration on Monday.

This is insane. We won the national championship. QUINNIPIAC WON THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!

Today and forever, a great day to be a Bobcat.

One more thing: Ohio St., Michigan, Minnesota. What an incredible run. All three of those teams were outstanding, championship-caliber teams. I can't believe the run we just went on. We will never forget about the 2022-23 Quinnipiac men's hockey team.

I remember 93 like it was yesterday. Enjoy the Natty, the first one is awesome. I know some of you guys have been waiting and watching for years. It’s only hockey but man does it feel good when your team goes all the way. Bonus for sending the gophers home with nothing ; ).
