Quinnipiac Bobcats 2022-23: The Quest Continues...

Really poor performance tonight. Complete lack of compete, the more deserving team won. Time to start a new win streak. Lake Placid is a house of horrors for us. Hopefully they never start hosting regionals there…

Damn it, damn it, damn it. Another chance at a Whitelaw, another one eludes us. I don't get it. Actually, I do. They were the more desperate team; their season ended with a loss. We are a 1 seed in Bridgeport no matter what happened this weekend. Hard to beat a desperate team when you're not. Obviously we want to win the trophy, but we don't have to win it for our season to keep going. I felt all week like this would be a really tough game for us. We barely beat them at our place, lost at their place, and they were the only team in the semis whose season ended with a loss. This result really didn't surprise me.

Also feels like we got goalie'd. Not often we can say that, but Gylander was ridiculous, made some 10-bell saves. We need to be better -- and we'll have to be better if we want our season to continue past next weekend. We've been on cruise control for so long in this conference, will we be able to turn it on next weekend? Has this team been challenged enough that it knows what to do against a good team? I sure hope so, or this incredible regular season will have been a real waste.

Feels like we say it in every big game we lose, if I’m honest. I can’t erase the PTSD of watching every shot in Pittsburgh hit Jeff Malcolm square in the chest. I was having flashbacks after Graf threw that cross ice pass from Metsa right into Gylanders chest.

Gylander had a hell of a game and was well positioned but there were many shots that needed more creativity on it then square in the chest.

We still need the committee to potentially intervene to get to Bridgeport, depending on where Penn St falls. We have like 6 potential opponents too as a lot of bubble busters are still alive. Will be interesting to see how the games played out tomorrow. Every game in college hockey went to OT today except Cc-Denver. I don’t think it’s a long shot to say there will be 15 teams who could win it all come Sunday’s bracket reveal (sorry Atlantic Hockey).

You better get your S**T together and take this gut wrenching feeling into the the tournament…..your Clearly Cuos are great…….FINISH THE JOB ! you need to be playing your best now…..now regressing
This needs to be your wake up call

They looked Bad and still had chances. Very hard to watch. Brind’amour getting tossed hurt, but others didn’t step up, aside from Perets who was great.

Looking like our bracket could end up being:

Quinnipiac-Merrimack
Harvard-Michigan Tech

We're likely locked into facing Merrimack in the first round - they like to protect the overall No. 1 seed by giving them the No. 16 seed, and the other four seeds are Cornell and Colgate. If we were to be lucky enough to get past that game, there's a chance we could face Harvard in the regional final, a team we outscored 7-1 in the regular season.

Nothing is easy but that seems like a reasonable path to the Frozen Four.

The more I look at it, the more I think they send Harvard west to protect the No. 1 overall seed. Doesn't really make sense to have potential 2nd-rd matchups of (1) Minnesota vs (6) SCSU and (2) QU vs (7) Harvard. I think it'll be Harvard going west and SCSU coming east.

Colgate looked like a QU clone last night. Fast, crisp passing and Ghylander was by far the best player on the ICE all weekend.

He cramped up in the third, on the second goal. He was sucking electrolyte packets like they were milkshakes the last 6-7 minutes and stood tall. He deserves the MVP and IMO everyone else was 2nd team. They may do some damage next week.

This is a situation where it really helps us that we can't face an ECAC team in the first round. Cornell and Colgate both played us so tough this year, and we can't face either of them until the Frozen 4.

Zyanks, do you know the Bridgeport area? I can give you some food and parking recommendations if you want. My office is literally right down the street from the arena.
I'm most likely not going to be able to make it Friday... but if something causes the stars to align, I'd be interested in knowing where there's handicapped parking if the garage spaces are full. I've been there several times but always have been able to get in the garage. Since I certainly can't make the 1st game I'm afraid all those spaces will be gone as I like to arrive early (in this case 1 hr before game time).

Hi, Mark. I just checked, and according to the website, there are ADA accessible spots in the lots across the street from the venue in addition to the garage. Unfortunately, it also says the ADA spots are first come, first served. Here is the link:

I'll be screaming in from work and barely making it to the opening faceoff, so I'll probably just try to get into the garage next to the arena. I've been to the ampitheater there a couple times so I know my way around. Thanks.

That makes sense. You can also park right on Main Street which should cost only around a dollar or so if you are arriving at that time because the meters only run until 6:00. You should be able to park and get into the arena more quickly that way because you won’t have to deal with garage traffic. It’s also much easier to get out after the game. I would park on Main Street by Ralph and Rich’s. Enjoy the game.

As long as the first game doesn't have any extra hockey you should be good (traffic issues notwithstanding).

My concern about finding a handicapped space is due to the fact that if I go, I'll be arriving between 4:00-4:30 and will be fighting the crowd from game 1 (assuming either of those teams bring enough fans).

Theoretically fans would be arriving throughout the day; fans from Game 1 are also ticketed for Game 2. I think we'll see attendance kind of ramp up all the way to 5:30. I assume the building will be pretty packed for our game.
