I know we should never critique a win, but ... yikes was that a sloppy, uneven performance. They're not going to achieve their goals playing like this every Saturday night -- they've got to figure that out.
Good news: Petruzzelli was outstanding. Best player on the ice; great for him, hopefully this gets him off the schneid.
Quinnipiac sweeps weekend series from Maine, moves to 11-2

This team has something to prove, still. It is mid-season, they are playing under the radar and exceeding expectations, but this is mid season with 21 games left against some very good teams starting next week with Princeton and to me it is a much rougher schedule with 2 more against Clarkson, 2 Colgate, 2 Yale, 1 Harvard 1 Cornell and 1 Dartmouth and BU, Holy Cross and then 1 at Union and Rensselaer - the softer games are St. Lawrence & Brown and those are tough physical teams so it will depend on how the depth holds up...any updates on Nick Jermain? How does his play factor into the rotation, when he returns?
I am new to this forum and to QU. Yet have seen all their games this year. I agree, are they a true top 10 team? That's pretty difficult to quantify without playing Cloud or UMD. Yet I'll take good graces when they come. If these kids believe they are a top 10 team, then that's all that matters. Its fun to watch, and I hope every opponent just goes with the philosophy that its just a bunch of Freshman. Yet the upper class leadership it phenomenal. They are the key, and they are keeping the kiddos in line and in focus.
I have been to all the home games so far and I am impressed with the team so far. I think they have proven that they are not the team of last year or the year before thankfully. Are they a top 10 team IMHO I think so until proven otherwise. We are never going to see Q play most of the teams from out west as Peknold does not seem to want to travel out there (Arizona was the only exception I can think of) and they don't appear to want to travel out here. But isn't that what the NCAA tournament is for to bring the best of each conference together and let them play to determine who is best. Over the next few weeks we will see what this team is made of with Princeton and Umass Amherst in the next 2 weeks. I can only hope that as the freshman gain experience they just keep getting better.

Not true. He will travel out there if teams from out west return the favor and come to Hamden.
We said the same about BC and BU not that long ago.Ok I stand corrected but honestly no matter how you cut it we are not likely to see any of the big programs from out west coming here.

No sense going west if those teams won't return the favor. For them it's more about money (gate receipts) than anything else.
Is this a top 10 team? Pairwise says yes and until it doesn't I agree. They can only play the games on the schedule. That means win the ones you're supposed to and steal a few that you're not.
Goaltending will be key to any success this year. I also think the "example" shown by the upper classmen is a huge part of it as well.
The next 2 weeks will be a big test for this team... possibly the biggest of the season.
Completely agree! The goaltending is going to huge. Mistakes will happen with a young team, they can make it up on the front end if they don't get too deep in a hole. Also agree about the next 2 weeks. No way Fogarty or Carvel will take any Rand team lightly. This will be a true test.
Defense has been good. KP seems to have gained some confidence. What changed from the early season losses, when we were bit down on KP, but Defense overall?

Seems we are stockpiling some more young talent. ‘00 born so do we see him next fall?
