Quinnipiac Bobcats 2017-18: Chase the dream...

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 2017-18: Chase the dream...

what us this stop in play...the video is now off, they are taking a break
The stoppage early in the first was for glass repair. One of the brackets between the tops of the panes fell on the ice. Apparently, nobody at Ingalls could find a ladder! It looked like the facilities guy was trying to convince the ref the bracket wasn't needed. Only at an Ivy league school...

...cannot believe they charge anything for this amateur hour, 1 camera piece of dung! the security camera is as good as this.
Seems to be a sentiment felt around the league. Once again the ball gets dropped by the powers-that-be in Albany.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 2017-18: Chase the dream...

I tweeted this out as well but here is my thoughts

Quinnipiac's next opponent has yet to be determined but if I was them I would want Cornell who they match up the best with. I don't want any part of Union (0-4 last 2 years) and even though they beat Clarkson that would be a tough match-up with the fire power they have offensively. Just my two cents

That facilities guy is most likely some union schlep from Hamden getting time and a half for scraping ice. What does Ivy League have to do with it?

It was George the Zamboni guy (I went to high school with him). Known as one of the best ice makers around. It was entertaining watching him try to tell Hicks that the netting would keep the top of the pane secure.

I said that mostly tongue in cheek, but it shouldn't take 5 minutes for someone to find a step ladder and get it on the ice. Luckily it was very early in the game where it had no effect on the flow of either team.

All because the league thinks people won't go to the games unless they do this. And I bet the league has to bring in single camera shots (or use what's presented to the coaches) because the schools have recognized the league's profiteering and want no part of it.

It's crazy to me that schools do their own thing all season, then the playoffs come and places like Quinnipiac and RPI, who both do terrific free broadcasts of every game, now have to charge. And a place like Quinnipiac, which puts its games on ESPN3, can't do it in the playoffs. Totally absurd.

ECAC owns the games, and charge $10,000 for the rights (or at least that was the price a few years ago). I'd assume ESPN would be willing to pick up those rights, but that would require you to have a home game, which you did not this year.

ECAC has to pay for Spring Golf trip to coaches convention in Fla....

Since I follow the Surrey Eagles because they have an RPI recuit, Cory Babichuk, who has been injured, I note that QU recuit Desi Burgart scored all 4 goals in a 4-2 playoff win. http://bchl.ca/stats/game-summary/8442

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 2017-18: Chase the dream...

I was wondering, why is there a thin red line across the ice at the top of the face off circles in the rink in the Surrey videos?

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 2017-18: Chase the dream...

Burgart will be with Quinnipiac this coming fall. Brings much needed offensive skill and goal scoring ability.

Maybe those are lines for when very young kids play hockey from one side of the rink to the other.
