Quinnipiac Bobcats 2016-17 - It's 873 miles to Chicago...

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 2016-17 - It's 873 miles to Chicago...

Has to be back probably in the 11-12 season or before.

I just looked it up -- hasn't happened to QU in ECAC play since the 2009-2010 season. Part of a 10-game winless streak and part of a 7-game losing streak.

Quinnipiac added a 3rd goalie from the Club team for the 2nd semester. Jessie Burns a junior. 5'6 155 pounds out of Westport, CT. Practice goalie for them. If he sees any game action something has gone terribly wrong with the two goalies in front of him. Likely on the roster until the end of the semester and that is it.

Big weekend on tap. Game tonight is on SNY for those that aren't going.

Nice win tonight even if it was against a depleted 'Gate squad (apparently a stomach bug or food poisoning affected 5-6 of their guys). Points are crucial right now but more importantly is the PWR implications. Only 2 games left against teams ahead of us in the pairwise so we need to win all we can and hope some of teams above have troubles.

Got a couple of nice garbage goals tonight... something that's been lacking over the past few games. A beautiful snipe by Landon Smith and some nice hand-eye coordination from McMaster as well. Defense actually looked good tonight and Shortridge was on his game.

Overall a really good effort. Tomorrow will be a tougher game but hopefully tonight instilled a little confidence in them.

Quinnipiac has pretty no chance at an at-large now. They need to win the ECAC tournament.

A pitiful performance tonight. They just couldn't get anything going against the Big Red. Without some help and a whole lot of good fortune, it looks like it might be an early spring. :(

At-large hopes are gone. They need to win the ECAC

This is a fairly young team that is plain old struggling this year. They have shown glimpses (in one weekend, actually) of the old QU (vs. Colgate) and then a team that needs to develop (vs. Cornell).

That said, the reality of really good players leaving early (Anas & Toews) as well as coaches (Cashman) is the penalty for success.

I, personally, cannot understand the Duane situation. Yes, he is big (6'5", 210) - but he brings nothing else to the table, IMO. No speed, not a sniper, not really aggressive... I expected him to be a bigger version on Van Brabant - throwing his size around - but not even close. Maybe they have nothing better than him right now, but why so many minutes? I personally think that Aldworth is a better option for more minutes because of his offensive ability. Granted - he is not going to win the Selke for his defensive awareness but we need some level of scoring...no?

Hear you need more scoring but both Aldworth and Duane deserve more TOI according to stats both forecheck very well and make most of there limited shifts TOI. Duane from 3/4thline 8 points in last 10 games and Aldworth from 3/4thline 3 goals and 1 assist in last 5 games. If TOI I think you are looking in wrong place. The 1st couple lines with PP and SH have not produced. Why not put that 6'5" body out front and let Aldworth shoot on PP. Think PP needs review and help of Reid Cashman.
