Quinnipiac Bobcats 2015 Off-Season: "Thanks for the memories, Jack"

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 2015 Off-Season: "Thanks for the memories, Jack"

Thomas Aldworth looks impressive to me from what I've seen. Think he's making a wise decision to come play for Rand has he has a good track record of turning offensive guys into two way forwards and round out their game. I think the best part of his highlights were the cellys. Need someone to replace JST, he looks like the man to do it

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 2015 Off-Season: "Thanks for the memories, Jack"

AS I understand it, he parted wiys with PC at least two months ago as PC wanted him to spend another year in Juniors. For some reason, it was not picked up by the services that follow such things. PC could probably afford to keep players in reserve, while other teams have more immediate needs. The kids from the BC league are often erratic in the way and speed with which they adjust to D1 play. PC just wasted three years of scholarship $ on Paul DeJersey, who had been a league scoring leader prior to coming east. Perhaps this is why they wanted to see the kid spend another year polishing his game. Hopefully you got a steal. We'll see when your guys come to Matthews next fall.:)

I hope so too. I'm sure he will see the ice next year. If he cant make an immediate impact, he will certainly be ready to go for his second year.

Rand took another one year BCHL wonder in Landon Smith and that has worked out pretty **** good.

Proud to announce my commitment to Quinnipiac University. Thanks to everyone who's helped me accomplish my goal. #GoBobcats

Not sure if this is new?

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 2015 Off-Season: "Thanks for the memories, Jack"

I'll go more into Creamer tomorrow since I am occupied at the Garden for the Frozen Four. Quick analysis this looks to be a solid pickup for a player that can develop and has power forward size.

More on Matt Creamer

6'2 190lb Feb 1997 DOB originally out of Warwick, RI set for 2017-18 in Hamden. He is done at Selects as they only have U18 and U16 programs so its a likely bet he heads out to the BCHL for 2 years of seasoning. I don't believe he was selected in the USHL draft though its possible he could be selected in Phase II this year.

Played at Selects Hockey Academy U18 and in 28 games game put 15 goals, 21 assists with 32 PIM's. In the playoffs had 3 goals and 4 assists in 4 games played.

Quinnipiac's Dman Dan Federico. Signs with Wilkes barre--on his way to meet the team in Portland.#cawlidgehawkey

Congratulations Danny! Well deserved.

Saw only 1 other QU fan last night at the semifinals in a Brandon Wong jersey. Frozen Fours are good times.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 2015 Off-Season: "Thanks for the memories, Jack"

In hindsight never really figured out why the Renouf's were signed to a D1, sure both could put up some decent numbers but they are PP specialists and stature wise not going to grow any. While points are one stat I never judge a player from that alone, watching first hand I thought it wouldn't work out and sounds like it has not. I do not think these two players have played with anyone else going all the way back to minor hockey, while it can give an advantage to play alongside the same line mate year in and year out, it certainly isn't developing your game in learning how to play with a multitude of players and styles.

Wish them well on their next challenge, will they be eligible for three (3) years at Anchorage or will they have to Redshirt a year in getting the transfer??

The way I understand it is that they can play immediately as long as QU (Rand) releases them. They might be able to get a redshirt for this past season which would give them 4 more years if they so choose.

Someone in the UAA said they have to sit out as the NCAA abolished the ability to play immediately so they have to indeed sit out.

Most players would wish to finish up their program on time, either advance to a Pro level afterwards or join the workforce. I know some will redshirt and make it a 5 year stint, above that it doesn't make sense to me.

With not playing the first year, and likely missing the second year, I see a two year cycle to finish up their education and perhaps try their luck at Pro then should they have outstanding years. Most colleges would not go for a two year cycle wishing to invest their time and effort on a longer tenure.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 2015 Off-Season: "Thanks for the memories, Jack"

Mark is right here. The Renoufs didnt play this year so if Rand releases them (don't know if he has yet, but i'd be shocked if he didn't) they can play next year. They should get a redshirt for this year and have 4 years to play at UAA.

That's how Zach Luczyk was able to play at Sacred Heart this season if I'm not mistaken.
