In fact, according to Lightning beat writer Eric Erlendsson, he's heading to Syracuse for the rest of this season on an ATO, his ELC doesn't start until next year.

Looking ahead to next season, Pecknold must plug holes left by Peca and versatile Alex Barron up front; along with defensemen Justin Agosta and Federico. Toews, a draft pick of the Islanders last June, and Garteig may be presented with NHL offers in the offseason.

The current plan includes a recruiting class of three forwards and three defensemen. Pecknold can’t comment on incoming freshmen until hockey’s national letter of intent signing period commences on April 15.

I was pretty much right on the size of the recruiting class when I said 5-6 guys. This confirms that Priskie, Shiplo and Fritz are all coming over. Gadoury, Davidson and Martin should be the forwards. However Ryan Finnegan signed a NLI for 2015-16 season but I wonder if they send him to a higher end junior league for a year. I'm not sure he is ready yet.

Congrats to Peca for signing. From what I heard Tampa offered him the minimum and he countered. They said no and he was prepared to be a free agent like JST. Tampa obviously got back to him last night or this morning. Good for him to make them cough up a little more. Will help the business school graduates' income numbers ;)

As for his career, he is my definition of Quinnipiac Hockey. Only being here for 4 years, he was what you wanted him to be and more. I'm sure he was Rand's dream player. Never saw him take a shift off and he played the last two years with injury and still was so productive. I can only imagine if he wasn't hurt! I would only hope future recruits would come in and be half a Bobcat he was.

Taking a look at the Crunch's schedule, we have two opportunities to see him this weekend. Friday in Hartford and Saturday in Bridgeport. I might head to Webster Bank for Saturday's game.

Best of luck to Peca. I could watch him play for the rest of my life and be happy each and every time. Those guys don't come around too often

I'll take a team full of half Peca's! The kid is amazing.

He's in my top 3 of favorite Bobcats (that I've seen in person) with David Marshall (one of the best toe drags I've ever seen) and Eric Lampe (who was a shorty scoring machine).

Congratulations Matt!

Any Bobcat fans heading to the Frozen Four just for the hell of it? I have tickets right now just to the semifinals.

Perhaps this will speed up his coming?..... Twin brothers Jonah and Nathan Renouf, freshmen Fwds at Quinnipiac, will be at UAA next season. Prolific scorers in Jr. prior to Qpac (0GP)..... https://twitter.com/OTBPuckWatch/status/583464772840136705

Usually do with my father but wont be at Boston this year. Have fun. I think it's UND's to lose but with the way the year has played out, who the hell knows who will win

Well this is a bit suprising though neither played this year so maybe it really isn't. I think they looked at they may have had another tough time cracking the lineup especially with 3 new forwards coming in as well.

My guess would be is they had their end of the season meeting and Rand let them know they aren't in next years lineup as of now, or something of those lines.

Like Turk181 said, maybe this is why Finnegan is signed for next year. I wonder if the coaches are experiencing more and more interest from players so they feel as if they can get better players now then they could when they signed some of these guys (ie Renoufs, Lemire, Rouleau, Luczyk)

Looking at the forward lineup hypothetically

Anas-St. Denis-Smith
Jonzzon-MacMaster-Tiefenwerth
Taverner-Schutt-Pieper
TBD-Clifton-Pieper

Newcomer forwards (Gadoury, Davidson, Martin) and this doesn't include Finnegan. It would have been tough for the Renouf's to crack the lineup again hense the transfer to UAA.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 2015 Off-Season: "Thanks for the memories, Jack"

Jonah and Nathan Renouf, freshman forwards at Quinnipiac, will transfer to Alaska-Anchorage this fall, the Register has confirmed. Over the Boards first reported the news via Twitter.

The identical twin brothers, listed at 5-foot-8 and 160 pounds, were productive in the British Columbia Junior Hockey League last winter and the Ontario Junior Hockey League before that, but neither cracked the lineup for the Bobcats this season.

Quinnipiac, which had planned to bring in six freshmen next season, will likely expand its recruiting class to fill the two additional full scholarship roster spots.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 2015 Off-Season: "Thanks for the memories, Jack"

did they crack the lineup for any Exhibitions by chance?
The played in our season opening exhibition but did not stand out over any of the other freshmen. They were highly regarded prior to coming here. My guess is their size is what prevented them from seeing any game time.
