Quinnipiac Bobcats 2015 Off-Season: "Thanks for the memories, Jack"

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 2015 Off-Season: "Thanks for the memories, Jack"

I'm looking forward to the season ticket holder bbq tomorrow - should be a great day for it.

Does anyone have any insight about newcomers this season who may make an impact?

I fully expect to see Luke Shiplo step right in and produce. I doubt QU will get lucky for the 3rd year in a row with a Freshman standout but if there was one I would expect it to be Shiplo, and that is just based out statistics I have read. The only other name I honestly see getting any substantial ice time is Aldworth possibly. But you never know the College game is a lot different from the BCHL.

Season tickets are in hand! Unfortunately I couldn't stay for the eats tonight. Cannot wait for some Bobcats hockey action!

It's almost October! ;)

I'm loving the fact that once I am back in the States it will be Hockey time.

In other news I hope everyone is excited about the big Tesla unveiling on Monday. Model X is here finally! Hahaha this will be my only plug for my company :D.

Anyone know why Alex Barron is listed on the 2015-16 roster? - I was under the impression that he lost a year of NCAA eligibility when he played in a USHL game after age 21.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 2015 Off-Season: "Thanks for the memories, Jack"

Roster also has a second transfer not eligible this year in Chris Truehl from Air Force. He will battle Sean Lawrence for the job next year along with Andrew Shortridge coming into the fold as Garteig and Jacob Meyers graduate.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 2015 Off-Season: "Thanks for the memories, Jack"

Roster has 30 players though 2 are sitting out due to transfer (Kevin Duane) & (Chris Truehl). Barron must have got an NCAA waiver to play.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 2015 Off-Season: "Thanks for the memories, Jack"

The team appealed the NCAA's initial ruling and Barron won and was granted another year of eligibility.

Great news about Barron. More leadership is always a good thing and Alex is one of the gutsiest guys to ever wear a Bobcats sweater.

Thanks Ralph. Seems to be a fair assessment of what we're supposed to be this season.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 2015 Off-Season: "Thanks for the memories, Jack"

@ChipMalafronte: Quinnipiac d-man Alex Miner-Barron got NCAA waiver; to play season as grad student. Only catch: he's ineligible first five games #ECACHockey

I can live with that... he'll be an asset even if he's in the stands due to his leadership abilities. And sitting 5 games will just make him hungrier... ;)

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 2015 Off-Season: "Thanks for the memories, Jack"

I got out to the BC Junior Hockey League Showcase on the Friday. More US Collage and NHL scouts than fans in the building!! :)
Mind you it was a work day and that night's Chilliwack vs Penticton game must have had a great crowd. Penticton Vees won 201 in OT.

Been to every Showcase except last year. Great facility....seats just under 5,000. Second ice sheet in building.
