I'm really looking forward to this series. I still don't know what to make of this SCSU squad and want to see them take on a good team on the road. Did they just take advantage of a suddenly poor Mankato team or are they actually improved? I'm leaning towards the latter. I was really impressed with the depth of the team this past weekend and seeing a goalie with three straight shutouts is remarkable.

Eagle - You know where to find us. Timing is the only question but my guess is we will be there nice and early to beat the crowd.

Let's not forget the Black Bears are in town tomorrow. Watch out for Byron and in my opinion, Vesey. He was terrific in the neutral zone a couple of weeks ago. Too bad JST isn't around to burn them with another late goal. I'm intetested to see who Maine starts tomorrow - I'd guess it will be the freshman since Morris played Saturday night. Don't sleep on this team, this year. I haven't been able to say that in a long time.

I figured that! ;) You have my number... send me a text if/when you have a definitive time and I'll try to join y'all.

I hope that they won't fall asleep on anyone this year. Even without JST I think we have plenty of offensive weapons to get the job done.

The next 3 games are huge and will likely have a huge impact on the overall season. With St. Cloud coming in at #10 on alumni weekend it should create some additional buzz and motivation in the locker room. Need to handle the Black Bears first though... Should be a fun week.

Can't take anything for granted tonight and look past Maine with a big series looming this weekend. Maine has a hot goalie; we have a hot offense. Should make for a fun game.

Go Q!

Is anyone else having trouble with the live stream?

Won't load for me, whole QU website is very slow for some reason.

Ok. I thought my work server all of a sudden blocked the streaming. Sounds like it's getting really chippy.

Stream was tough for me up here for most of the game.

I know McGovern got run into the other night at Union so it looks like he is still nursing something. I can't see any other reason not to play that kid. WOW what a game tonight. Just a complete effort from start to finish. They didn't need to do much in the 3rd, but I'm glad they took over early.

That Maine team looked 100% different than two weeks ago. Byron, Vesey and everyone else was dead quiet tonight. I didn't even hear Swavley's name mentioned. On to SCSU!!! I'm off Friday, so I'll be heading down as early as I can. See Ya'll at the bank!

I can't wait to re-watch this game because it sounded like they skated really well tonight, I just want to see it for myself.

As complete an effort as I've seen in a long time. Came out flying, dictated the pace of the game, and took Maine to the woodshed. Much better on the defensive side which was nice to see. TSD didn't come out for the 3rd... hope it's nothing serious.

Nice to see Tiefenwerth and Schutt get their goals and Priske had an Aldworth-like snipe. Garts wasn't really tested but came up with a few big saves when he needed to.

Sorry Brian... Maine looked flat all night. Not sure why but certainly not what you would expect from a Hockey East team. Either they were really slow or we have a really fast team.

This weekend should be some fantastic hockey!

Congratulations to the Bobcats. Outstanding performance in almost every way. Quality video feed, too. One of Maine's worst ever performances.

Great game tonight!
It's great to see some goals from different players. Priskie continues to impress me.
I expected a much closer game from Maine. I can't wait to see the matchup against St.Cloud this weekend. They should be much tougher then the teams faced so far and be a real good test for the team. We will be heading up for the game on Saturday :)

A quick thought.

When we went up to Maine in 2012 for our first game (I believe) and beat them, it was a "program changing" win at the time. I remember my uncle sitting with me at Eli's the following morning and congratulating Hilbrich, Luczyk, and Jonzzon (not knowing neither of them suited up, let alone made the trip up to Maine) as they walked in for their team gameday meal in the banquet room. He said wow what a big win for your Bobcats last night. Three years later and all the boys did last night was take care of business. I know Maine isn't the team they used to be but man when you put it into perspective, we've come along way.

Didnt get to watch last night as I was at work but sounds like it was much of the same from the ASU game.

I am so excited to watch the games this weekend via the stream. We will get an accurate measure as to where we are in terms of top tier teams. A no loss weekend would be HUGE for Pairwise going forward. The boys just need to keep getting better every day. I assume the Bank will be jumping. It will be the first big game I've missed at home in four years. Enjoy it Larson, Schvatz, and Mark!

Looking back on that Maine game - it was definitely a big win, in part because JST made his mark right away. I also remember Joey Diamond getting tossed for a hit from behind on Dalzy - certainly took the life out of the team that night. Maine just hasn't been the same for a LONG time, but every year it seems like there is hope that something will happen again. If McGovern can get healthy (not looking great right now) I think they can make a mark. They need scorers, but more importantly they need guys that really show the effort. When you are talking about effort being the big goal for a season, the outlook usually isn't great. Not to say effort isn't important, but the last couple of years that's all I've wanted to see from the team. Just need a team that is working hard. Dad put it best the other night - Maine has become Lake Superior State: A team that was once dominating all competition.

We'll miss you around the bank but I'm sure we'll see you at some point.

Saw this video today and I just had to share it. Shows how powerful a sport like hockey can be:
