Bring on Yale baby!!!! And I don't know if anyone saw but the Cleary Cup beat up our Captain... Busted his eye right open hahaha!

I did see that. Not sure what he slipped on to begin with, but he was pretty bloody by the end of the trophy ceremony. Pretty funny, as long as he's OK.

Ya it's nice to get the Cleary but no one values the Cleary over the Whitelaw in the ECAC. If this is the only trophy they bring home this year it will be a disappointment. Time for the boys to strap down for the home stretch. I'd be fine with us getting ran over by Yale tomorrow if it means everyone is healthy for Game 1 of the quarters....I cant believe I just said that, but I truly feel that way.

I agree. It's time to bring home the Whitelaw. As important as the Yale game is, it's basically an exhibition game for both teams -- they both are locked into their seeds. That being said, a rivalry game is always important, and you want to go into that bye with a win.

As far as I'm concerned, this is still your team. The foundation you laid is solid and we'll be set for a very long time. Everyone misses your smiling face at the Bank. Thank you again for all you did for Quinnipiac athletics.

This team is so impressive. Such a blast to watch. Some random thoughts on the game ...

That might be the best game I've ever seen Garteig play in a Bobcats uniform. Square to the puck all night, no rebounds, and bailed out his defense a number of times. Remarkable performance. Loved his celebration at the end. He wanted this one.

Yale did a great job clogging things up, but this Bobcats team is so good because they're not bothered. They can beat you any way you want to play. You want to clog things up? They can be patient. You want to let QU get into the zone? They can carve you up. Nothing seems to bother this team.

I love how much puck support there is in the offensive zone. When guys are digging for it, there is always help. Always. And they win more board battles than any two teams combined. Seriously -- they never lose those battles. Incredibly impressive, and a big part of the reason why they outpossess their opponent every night.

Ice looked absolutely horrible. Pucks bouncing everywhere. Probably a result of the 2-OT women's game, but that was a shame.

The refs ... woof. ECAC refs never impress, and I thought they let far too much go. It's a rivalry game, you have to control things a little better. The way the game was being officiated, I was shocked Yale got that five-minute penalty. It was completely deserved, I just thought the refs would hand out a two. So much holding, hooking, and interference went uncalled.

25-2-7 regular season, 16-1-5 in the ECAC ... just a remarkable regular season. Time for the second season!

Go Bobcats.

Great effort tonight. I thought Garts was the best player on the ice this weekend overall, but tonight in particular. He made some huge saves that kept us in the game. Shiplo... the kid is gonna be good. I love what he's done over the past few weeks subbing for Derek Smith. I also thought Landon Smith was terrific tonight at both ends of the ice. He may not be putting up the points like TSD and Sam, but his hustle out there is second to none.

Great crowd too. The students were loud and borderline obnoxious. The biggest surprise to me was that there weren't as many Yale fans as I thought there would be. Maybe we just drowned them out but all I saw was QU blue & gold.

Awesome regular season. Did anyone think we'd be here tonight? Impressive to say the least. Enjoy the victory tonight because tomorrow starts a brand new season.

Forgot to mention the student section in my little review -- they were fantastic on the stream. And the most impressive part: They actually stayed until the final buzzer. As we all know, that did not used to happen. Well done, students.

That could be heard on the tv feed. Very bad look. That happened my senior year against Harvard and it was made an issue that Jack addressed.

Was embarrassed to hear it tonight.

I did not hear that on the stream, but that's unacceptable behavior. They should know better. Thought the student section was fantastic most of the night, but that's a terrible job by the students.

Not one of their better moments for sure, and not something I condone. Probably the only blemish on an otherwise great atmosphere.

Speaking as a Yale fan (and general college hockey fan) who goes to the Bank 4- 5 times a season, including every Yale -QU game since they started playing, many Yale fans are not going anymore. Just not the game you can bring the family to. It has gotten pretty rough the past few years.
