We were right at the glass/net line so it was hard to see directly across and I really didn't expect to see any QU fans over there. I kept looking up and over my right shoulder to the sections behind Q's bench.

Color me shocked! Absolutely dominated the Dutchmen tonight. Things got a little chippy near the end and we lost St Denis to a DQ so he'll have to sit a game but our play was stellar. Union had 12 shots in the first but only 7 the rest of the way. They also took a couple of boneheaded penalties but we couldn't convert any of them on the PP. Excellent job... do it again tomorrow at RPI.

Congrats to the Q! We played like garbage and you took the garbage out! Just make sure you pummel RPI too...

I'll add congratulations too. The Q beat Union at their own game. I've noticed that Pecknold has been trying to build more defensive accountability the last couple years and it looks like the players have finally "bought in". Very impressive. Good luck except when you play U again..

Bah... polls mean nothing at this point and we all know what happens when we get ranked high. I'm content to stay under the radar as long as the team plays consistently. Besides, PWR is what matters most (and even that only applies at season's end).
I think RPI is a lot better than their record indicates so there's no way they can be overlooked or taken lightly. After the AIC debacle hopefully the team knows that and plays with heart. Riga's comments on the post-game last night seemed to indicate that the AIC game has been used as a huge teaching point in their game preparation

Another weekend sweep! It wasn't their best effort tonight but they never gave up. Peca's 5-on-3 shortie was a thing of beauty and the backbreaker. RPI played us tougher than I thought. If they had better stick handling (lots of whiffs) it might have been a totally different game.

I'm sure he's had some influence but they were talking in the pregame about how everyone has bought into the system as well. How many times in the past did we hear Rand say that guys weren't?

They are very tough to play against. And that's one of the best things you can say about a hockey team. You earn every inch of ice against the Bobcats. They're strong on the puck, they forecheck, they backcheck, they get in passing lanes, they block shots, and they have a brick wall in net. Add in a very good offense, and things are coming together.
The only thing that could slow the Bobcats down is the holiday break. Two more games, both against Princeton, before they get out of here for three weeks.

I dropped in here to ask about streaming video of Bobcats game anywhere, since UNO is gonna be there at the end of the month and I have not yet had success talking the boss into flying to New York and driving up for our series there on the 29th and the 30th.
Day games? Are there any residual Hurricane Sandy issues in the area that would give one pause about coming?
This is probably going to be one of the better holiday series in the nation this year. My bet is that we come to town as a top ten team by then.
Anyway, I have never seen a 3 on 5 shortie in person or on film. Thanks for posting it. Wow.

My favorite shorthanded feats are Dan Lodboa's 3x5 goal in the 1970 NCAA title game vs Clarkson - along with a PPG and an even strength goal to score a natural hat trick and break the game open in the 3rd. By far the most ridiculous is CJ Young of Harvard, who scored 3 shorhanded goals on the same kill vs Dartmouth in December 1988. The goals were 49 seconds apart, but there was a period break between the 2nd and 3rd goals. Sadly, I didn't see either of those....

Two 12:00pm starts. There's nothing to worry about in this area but I can't speak for the areas between here and the NYC airports. I haven't heard of any major travel issues. You could fly into Bradley and avoid any potential problems.
