Quinnipiac Bobcats '12-'13 - Go fourth and conquer!

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '12-'13 - Go fourth and conquer!

Two 12:00pm starts. There's nothing to worry about in this area but I can't speak for the areas between here and the NYC airports. I haven't heard of any major travel issues. You could fly into Bradley and avoid any potential problems.

Pretty much back to normal except in some isolated neighborhoods directly along the coast. If you come, post up for any questions about lodging , dining etc. Lots to do and see in the area if you choose to come.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '12-'13 - Go fourth and conquer!

I dropped in here to ask about streaming video of Bobcats game anywhere, since UNO is gonna be there at the end of the month and I have not yet had success talking the boss into flying to New York and driving up for our series there on the 29th and the 30th.

Day games? Are there any residual Hurricane Sandy issues in the area that would give one pause about coming?

This is probably going to be one of the better holiday series in the nation this year. My bet is that we come to town as a top ten team by then.

Anyway, I have never seen a 3 on 5 shortie in person or on film. Thanks for posting it. Wow.

The only areas still affected by Sandy are the areas right along the coastline in NJ, Staten Island, and NYC. Everything else is basically cleaned up and back to normal. Gas is in good supply, power is on, stores are open, everything is fine as long as you weren't flooded out.

Quinnipiac does stream their games. Just go to their official website, or the direct website is www.NECFrontRow.com

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '12-'13 - Go fourth and conquer!

I'm sure he's had some influence but they were talking in the pregame about how everyone has bought into the system as well. How many times in the past did we hear Rand say that guys weren't?

Whatever it is, they just need to keep doing it. This team is playing as good as any Bobcat team I've had the pleasure of seeing. As the Union announcers said last night, they're playing a complete 3-zone game.

Yeah, the Bob Katz may be playing a 3-zone game right now, but the only zone your brain is in is the ozone, smart guy. And another thing, since your team doesn't play any team from New York state until after the first of the year your boys are completely hosed until then. And finally, you've got some really obnoxious little brats who live in your neighborhood...you know the ones I mean....well I just paid them a bundle to T.P. your house after you go to sleep tonight.

P.S. Nice weekend by your team. Any room left on the bandwagon?;)

I'll be sure to yell "get off my lawn"! ;)

Always room on the bandwagon... even for guys like you! :p

We will post the 1080p version which has several different angles of the shot in a day or two at http://rpitv.org/productions/517-hockey-vs-quinnipiac.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '12-'13 - Go fourth and conquer!

It's OK, national media. Keep sleeping on the Bobcats. We'll just keep winning our games, you keep ignoring us.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '12-'13 - Go fourth and conquer!

Keep sleeping on the Bobcats.
11th and 13th aren't too bad, neither is the weekly and monthly award for Hartzy. It's important though that the team stay focused and not let the accolades cause them to rest on their laurels. There's lots of hockey left. The holiday series with UNO will likely be a defining moment for this team and we all know how quickly things turn in the ECAC.

The Tigers come to the Bank tonight. The boys need to stay focused and play their game. I'm curious to see what the crowd, especially students, will be like tonight. I think we take game 1 of the home-and-home with Princeton... 5-2 Bobcats.

Go Q!

Hey Katz-Man-Do, Good luck to your team this weekend against the Brainiacs. Frankly, I think they'll outsmart you. ;)

The Denvers will be facing a team on the other end of the intellectual spectrum: The No Name Knuckle Draggers in Grand Forks. Always a fun time for both teams. If the games hold to recent form the busiest man in the arena all weekend will be the guy trying to keep track of all the penalty times. The most tired people in the arena will be the penalty killers from the respective teams. In general, civility and decorum have the "night off" when these teams meet.

Let the games begin.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '12-'13 - Go fourth and conquer!

Another less-than-complete effort, another never-give-up win! They came out flying and really had the Tigers pinned down in the 1st. Two great effort goals and a 2-0 lead going into the 2nd looked promising.

While the 2nd started like the 1st ended, Princeton made some adjustments and started giving us fits. We got a little sloppy which led to the Tigers getting one that I don't think anyone saw... Hartzy got a piece of it but not enough.

The boys seemed to pick it back up in the 3rd but so did Princeton. When they successfully killed off a 5-min major I thought for sure they'd grab the momentum and take it to us but we found a way to to keep them at bay while Condon came up with some huge saves, including a couple of point-blank beauties, that kept Princeton in the game. The last 1:39 were interesting to say the least. Kellen Jones took a dumb cross-checking penalty while Princeton was taking a major on a hit to Connor. I understand sticking up for your brother but it wasn't a smart move. Luckily, Jeremy Langlois sealed it with an empty netter.

The line of Langlois, Goodman, and Harvey was terrific tonight and Hartzell was good between the pipes. Peca had some great chances and made some sick moves out in front. Can you imagine what we'd be like with a power-play?

Off to Princeton tomorrow for the rematch. It will be interesting to see how both teams respond. Wonger and I will be making the trip so you can follow @QUHockeyBlog on Twitter for live updates.

OK Mark...........can you guys slow down a bit. You're running away with things!!! Can we swap places in the standings???

I hope not! ;)

Eh... it's still early and we all know how things can go in this league.

Can we swap places in the standings???
Umm... no! :p

Another nice road win today at Hobey Baker rink. At the beginning of the season most of us thought our offensive game was going to carry us. As it turns out we're stifling teams with our defense. After a pretty even 1st period, we held the Tigers to a stunning 3 shots in the 2nd and 5 in the 3rd. Hartzell's shutout ties him Bud Fisher for the QU career lead at 9, and he becomes only the 4th Bobcat netminder to win 40 career games.

Note to Santa: please bring us a power-play! It's the only missing piece, and it's a huge one. I shudder to think what kind of numbers we'd be putting up if we had even a luke-warm PP.

Here's to another 4-pt weekend! Well done, boys!

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '12-'13 - Go fourth and conquer!

After seeing Boston College play Providence on Friday, I thought QU was a better team the night they played PC when compared to Boston College...Maybe BC had an off night but QU is a very strong squad. Still crazy when looking at the losses QU has on this season!

Good luck Bobcats

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '12-'13 - Go fourth and conquer!

QU is a very strong squad.
We'd be even stronger, and a more potent threat, if we could just find a power play. With all the offensive talent we have on this team, it's really surprising to me that we're not scoring more on the PP. I think that's affecting our overall offensive production as well since we seem to press at times after failing to convert. Hopefully it will come around as I just can't see this offense being held back forever.

Good luck Bobcats
Thanks... same to the Friars.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '12-'13 - Go fourth and conquer!

Placed #9 in both polls today. Very nice recognition but the hard part will be staying there. The upcoming series against Nebraska is as big as any they'll play this season, not to mention the ever difficult ECAC schedule that remains ahead of them. Don't let it go to your heads boys. You still need to go out and play hard.
