Cornell is a bunch of slow giants, you won't believe how big they are. I imagine you guys are quick, I can't wait for the game in Hamilton. I'm hoping we can skate with you as we beat you and lost in OT. Should be a super game. Eagle you coming again...I'll stop by to say hello.

Sadly, I won't be making the trip to central NY this weekend. What's the weather supposed to be like there? We have blizzard warnings here for tomorrow into Saturday. :eek:

They're saying 6-9 inches or so...the worst snow in the afternoon and on...nothing like what you're supposed to get. Friday that is and nothing Saturday.

It's nice coming to USCHO and QU is on the front headline picture twice a week now a days.

Game day in Ithaca. Cornell is sitting in unfamiliar territory thus far this season and Lynah is a tough place to play. The guys just have to go out and continue doing what they've been doing. They've got to pepper Andy Iles with rubber and play solid D in front of Hartzy.

Game can be watch live via this link through Cornell though there is a cost. This is a big weekend for us. We need to take both these road games. Cornell always play tough at home and Colgate is playing very good hockey in the past couple of weeks.

Another stellar performance by Hartzell, and a gutsy performance in a hostile environment. A 4-1 win extends the unbeaten streak as they prepare for Colgate tomorrow. Good start to the weekend boys! :cool:

Two very good 4-1 wins by QU's Men's and Women's teams over Cornell. Congrats to both and good luck today with travel, weather and games vs. Colgate

I hope that everyone in the local Bobcat area weathered the storm without incident. To those getting ready to dig out, be safe... there's a lot of snow out there.

Still savoring the season sweep of the Big Red! Today the focus is on Colgate. They lost last night to Princeton so you know they will be hungry. Again, we'll need a huge defensive effort and another fine outing from Hartzell. I'm looking for it to be a close game, perhaps even going to OT. All I can say is I want to boys to avenge the 2 losses up at Starr last March in the playoffs.

It's a nice story, I agree.

And keeping in mind that rankings mean next to NOTHING at this point in the season, let me just say:

I'm a lifelong hockey fan, yet I was mostly unfamiliar with Quinnipiac until this season. I admit that I was very dismissive of these Bobcats for awhile. I definitely was. And I know very well that I'm not going to win any points with anyone by coming into a Quinnipiac thread and suggesting that the ECAC isn't exactly known to be a powerhouse, but that's the biggest reason I had been so dismissive for as long as I was.

Still... A 17-0-3 streak can't be written off. That's pretty awesome. So, I tip my cap to these particular Bobcats. I'll be interested to see how they finish the regular season.

Now having said that... I don't agree with the article one bit. Minnesota is a very deserving #1. I have no problem with someone making an argument that Quinnipiac should be #1, but the article calls it "absurd" that they're not. That's a bit silly and the author should probably calm down a tad. Although Quinnipiac is very good defensively (as is Minnesota), the reality is that they're not exceptional offensively. They've managed 81 goals. That's tied for second best in the ECAC, okay, but in the WCHA that would be good enough for 8th. 8th!!!! Minnesota does what they do against some awfully good teams. Is that AS true of Quinnipiac?

Hypotheticals are useless, of course, but would Quinnipiac have just rattled off 17-0-3 in the WCHA? Absolutely not. There's no chance of that whatsoever.

Do I think they should be penalized in the rankings for playing in the ECAC? No, not officially. Off the record? Yes, absolutely.

I guess that's all I have to say about that... and I'm sorry to invade your thread. If the article hadn't used the word "absurd" I wouldn't have bothered you all. I do realize none of YOU wrote the article, but hey, a little hockey debate in early February is always fun.

And Good luck against Colgate tonight. If Quinnipiac wins and Minnesota loses at St. Cloud State (which they shouldn't), you'll have your precious #1 ranking in a few hours.

Another gutsy road win 3-2 over Colgate. They looked a little shaky at times and Hartzy gave up a pair I think he's like to have back. The D blocked a ton of shots and deflected many passes, limiting 'Gates chances.

21 game unbeaten streak! Undefeated in league play 16 games in. Who would've thought that? Very impressive in its own right. Combine that with the PairWise and this team is just awesome. Safe travels back home and get ready for the north country teams to visit the Bank next weekend. :cool:

This is going to get overlooked due to what's happening here, but getting a first-round bye is a huge, huge accomplishment. That's been the goal for Quinnipiac for as long as they've been in the ECAC. Make no mistake, this is a huge accomplishment.

As Reid said on the post-game. Now let's go win the league.
