Quinnipiac Bobcats '11-'12 - Time to say bye?

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '11-'12 - Time to say bye?

Albert sounds as confused as our power play…
 :D

I really hope the boys can right the ship today against UMass. They have to find that scoring magic they showed early on. This is another game where, on paper, they should win but that will all depend on which Bobcat team shows up. I just want to see a good solid effort.

We should be up early for a little pregame tailgate.

Go Q!

Well, it wasn't their best effort but it was a much needed win. They came out like gangbusters and outplayed UMass for the first 2 periods. The 3rd looked like it could be trouble but they managed to hang on.

It was nice to see a couple of garbage goals scored on 2nd and 3rd chances... that's seems to be what was missing. In addition, a laser by Currie and a sweet roof shot by Connor Jones.

Let's hope this will carry us into next weekend against Union and RPI.

Game day at the Bank against a tough, top-ten Union team. The Dutchmen have given us fits over the past couple of seasons and we'll need a good, solid effort tonight. If we show up and play our game with no letdown (or meltdown), we should be able to skate with them and even eek out a win. Win or lose, it's important for the Bobcats to play a good game against a good opponent.

Go Q!

Hey guys, big game tonight! I know I have not posted in a while, I just have been very busy with a lot of stuff here at school promoting QBSN and stuff. Anywho, we have a lot of stuff planned tonight if anyone is interested.

In roughly 25 minutes, we will be hosting a pregame show from the lobby of the Bank for not only tonights game, but for the rest of the weekend. The pregame will be followed at 7 by live coverage of the game. Additionally, for the first time this year our live blog will also be available throughout the game, as well as our usual tweets via our twitter account (@QBSN). All of this available only at http://www.theqbsn.com/.

Should be a good game, very excited to see how everything unfolds. Go Q!!

And when I was there, people said I self-promoted too much. LOL. Make sure a certain former team manager doesn't read that, hahaha

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '11-'12 - Time to say bye?

I'll gladly take the point tonight! A fairly well-played game against the #9 team in the nation. Who'd a thunk we'd get all our scoring from the D?

We defintely outplayed Union in the first and through half of the second. After going up 2-0 on 2 PPG's, Union called a time-out and seemed to step up their game big time after that point. We stood tall killing off a few penalties, including almost a full minute of a 5-on-3 in the 3rd. We seemed to gain a little momentum back after that but couldn't capitalize.

In the end, a 2-2 tie against a quality Union squad in a well-played game is nothing to sneeze at. Hopefully they can build on it and take it to RPI tomorrow.

Yeah, it's just so hard to believe we've gone seven straight ECAC games without a win. That's frightening. The team played well enough to win last night and probably should've. According to Malafronte, the Currie shot in the third went in. Can't believe there was no review. My reaction to the loss is on the blog now. http://allnightwong.blogspot.com/.

Tailgate at 5 today!

One of the ugliest games I could remember for 59 minutes and 57 seconds quickly turned into an instant classic. YURI!! What a blast! Could turn this whole boat around...3 point weekend. Not bad at all.

YURI!! What a blast!
Watch the video and you can see the water bottle get flipped. What a blast indeed!

I also like how Yuri skated right over to the glass next to the RPI bench so he could salute his dad who was up on the concourse watching. We saw how excited Serge was... I can only imagine how Yuri felt.

Could turn this whole boat around...
Might be just what they needed. Battling back to tie it and then winning it in the final seconds has to be a huge confidence booster.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '11-'12 - Time to say bye?

I admit I'm cautiously optimistic about tonight. We absolutely cannot take Sacred Heart for granted. While this game means nothing in terms of the overall season, it means everything in terms of what we do for the rest of the season. A loss tonight would be a back-breaker IMHO. This team needs to continue to build its confidence because every game after this one is huge.

That said, I see this as an opportunity for the boys to flex their muscles and light the lamp several times.

Go Q!

Oh yeah! They did and they did! I really nice offensive display with a bunch of points spread over the lineup. In the spirit of the holiday season, all that was missing was a partridge in a pear tree! Just what they needed and hopefully there won't be a letdown come Sunday.
