Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '11-'12 - Time to say bye?
55 minutes of great hockey followed by five minutes of near panic. In the end they held on for a 3-2 win over the Tigers and, more importantly, 2 very valuable league points, moving them into sole possession of 3rd place.
The game was nowhere near what the score was. We plain out-played and out-hustled most of the afternoon. To their credit, Princeton never gave up and kept at it which, combined with our late game slow down, allowed them to claw their way back.
Going without 3 of our top guys (the Jones' are still injured and Langlois was out with the flu) this game could have easily been a problem, but the rest of the team played hard. Possibly the most physical I've seen them this year. Hartzell was great when he needed to be. He made some huge saves that otherwise could have changed the way this game played out. Currie sandwiched a pair around Kevin Bui's first collegiate goal for all the scoring. Defense was solid when it needed to be.
A really nice way to finish up the first half and head into the holiday break. After a tough 2-game set at Nebraska just before New Year's, it's league play the rest of the way, starting at Ingall's on January 6th.
To all the players, good luck with finals this coming week and enjoy the holidays!
