Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '10-'11

It's official... I won't be at Lynah to root for the Bobcat's. :( I will however be glued to the laptop watching the video feed.

This weekend will be a huge test for the boys. I'm confident we can skate with Cornell and even overcome their home ice advantage (we've done it before). If this team comes out and plays like they did against Brown, and can maintain a high level of play for the whole game, they have a better than average chance.

The only question prior to game time is who starts in goal? Does Rand open with Clarke who has had 2 stellar games, and follow with Hartzell tomorrow? Does Hartzy get the nod tonight? Either way I don't think we'll have a problem. Certainly whoever gets the start will be on a short leash, and I'm sure both of them know that.

Defense will need to be solid and help out in front of the goal all game long. Last week we had a forward down deep which hindered a little bit on the breakout but I'd expect to see that again this weekend.

Offensively, I hope Rand doesn't change any of the lines from the Brown series. There seemed to be some really good chemistry on all four lines. I expect Langer and the Jones boys will garner most of Cornell's attention leaving the door open for guys like Zurvy, Dunbar, Yuri and Goodman. The team proved last week that they can score and I expect to see that continue tonight.

While I won't be there in person, I will probably be screaming just as loud!

Good luck tonight boys!

Go Q!

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '10-'11

It was a close game that was being dominated by Q until Cornell killed a full 2 minute 5 on 3 early in the 2nd. That changed all the momentum to the Big Red for the rest of the period. The 3rd was closer with the edge probably going to Q but they couldn't capitalize on the PP opportunities. Clarke made some huge saves including stoning a 2-on-1 in the 3rd. Garman was a stud for Cornell and probably was the difference in the game.

Nothing to be ashamed of... just need to come out hard tomorrow night and take it back.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '10-'11

Down 1 game to none, it's now or never. Will this be the last time Hansen and McGann dress in blue and gold? Is tonight the last time we see Zurevinski as a Bobcat? Can they pull off a win tonight and extend this series to game 3 tomorrow? Having their backs against the wall should inspire them to come out hard and not let up. It's a must-win game and will take a total team effort.

Go Q!

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '10-'11

Hah, Mark are you the only one left here???

It's all quiet on the western Bobcat front.

Hopefully QU can extend the season at least one more game tonight.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '10-'11

Game 3 tomorrow!

Way to go boys! Excellent game by Hartzell. Made some huge saves at key times. Defense was solid. Offense had planty of chances, outshooting Cornell 31-24. The only downside was our inability to bury our chances.

Tomorrow should be a tight, back and forth game. Both teams will be gunning for the win (and probably each other). Winner goes to Atlantic City.

Note to the Bobcats: my birthday present is a trip to AC. It would be really nice for you to join me there!

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '10-'11

Way to go, 'Cats. Very impressive to outshoot Cornell twice in their barn. Good luck to the boys tomorrow.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '10-'11

Nice to see that QU has really put the defensive foot down this post season. Unfortunately QU has been pretty consistent in two ways during their time in the ECAC. One is that they know how to win first round playoff series. Two is that they know how to lose game 3s of second round series with a trip to the ECAC finals on the line.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '10-'11

I don't know how to feel going into tonight's game. Mark has been giving me stellar play by play as I've had other requirements that prevent me from watching. It certainly doesn't seem like were being home jobbed which has happened in the past in lynah. Penalties seem to have been even. I'm cautiously optimistic I guess you could say and truly believe that if we got past tonight wed have a bonafide shot at winning next weekend. But let's take this game first. I think you definitely go with hartzy. Nothing against clarke but a shutouts a shutout. Let's go get em and head to the casino.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '10-'11

Anyone know the TV plans for Atlantic City? Who's carrying it? Are the semi's televised? Because I'm going to Bridgeport the following weekend and can't take off two straight Friday's at work...I'm probably going to be relegated to couch status regardless of if our boys make it. Any info is appreciated.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '10-'11

Lets have a pact tonight, no red teams in the semis!

Good Luck to Q tonight at Lynah.

Have to say I can't support the "red teams" in the semi's quote but not for the Cornell part but for our game tonight at The Whale.

It was ugly both ways at Ingalls last night. Officating has been awful both nights but last night the game got out of hand. We will be lucky not to get our doors blown off tonight. We lost one of our better Defenseman Justin Baker to a hit that we think broke his tibia. Poor kid was in agony. We had another D Man leave the ice who has been pretty dinged up all year and I am hoping he can play or we will be severely challenged on D against a team that can fly and light it up.

Mark......did you go to Lynah or are you watching from home?
