Quinnipiac Bobcats '10-'11

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '10-'11

Good Luck to Q tonight at Lynah.
Thanks, Mike. Same to you and the Saints at Ingalls.

Mark......did you go to Lynah or are you watching from home?
Watching from home. :( Couldn't find a travel partner amongst all these fair-weather Bobcat fans!

My daughter came home last night for break and the first thing she asked was what time we were leaving for Ithaca this morning. I have to admit I was tempted. ;)

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '10-'11

I think you definitely go with hartzy. Nothing against clarke but a shutouts a shutout. Let's go get em and head to the casino.
I will be shocked if Hartzell doesn't get the start, but won't be worried if Clarke happens to skate out first. I like our chances with either. I expect we'll see a close, hard fought game tonight. The season is on the line for both teams and everyone will be gunning to get to Atlantic City.

Show us what you're made of, Bobcat's!

Go Q!

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '10-'11

At least QU provides comfort in consistency.

To be fair, they were really outclassed against Cornell in this game. Not sure about the series as a whole, but Cornell were just better than Quinnipiac tonight. Nothing to be ashamed about. As Schweiz just said, it's a young team. The best is yet to come.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '10-'11

That's all folks. :(

A valiant effort by the Bobcat's that just came up short. Down 2-0 going into the 3rd and being totally outplayed by Cornell I thought they were done. Somehow they battled back to tie it and take the Big Red to OT. Cornell had the better of the play putting a lot of pressure on net and eventually putting one in.

Nothing to be ashamed of. It was a great playoff series and could have gone either way. They never quit and just came up short. Hold your heads high boys. We'll get 'em next year.

Cornell did just what they had to do tonight. We played nothing like we did in the first two... maybe we were gassed a bit.

Nothing to be ashamed about.
Absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. They battled back in one of the most hostile rinks in D1 and had as much chance to win as Cornell did.

I agree. We lose almost nothing this year and gain a ton of experience going into next season. The best is yet to come...

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '10-'11

Bad luck guys. It may have been for selfish reasons, but I was really pulling for you this weekend.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '10-'11

A very hard fought series with lots of ups and down for both teams, and either could have won. I think Q may have been tired in the overtime -- certainly that third period comeback is something we're not used to from any opponent at Lynah. Tremendous effort by the Bobcats -- best of luck in seasons to come!

Good luck to the Red. Very impressed with the class your team showed at the end of the game. The video feed made it look like they stick tapped as QU left the ice, and didn't stick salute to the fans until all the Bobcats were off the ice. Very classy.

I noticed that as well but at the time was too shell shocked to realize what was going on. Overall, I thought this Cornell team was vastly different from previous ones, including the 2 regular season games. A kinder, gentler Big Red perhaps? ;)

That's the way it (almost) always is at Lynah. Only exceptions are when a visiting team seemingly refuses to leave the ice. Friday night was a little weird because the official was trying to force Cornell off their ice sans salute, so there was some off...on...can we...can't we...among the players.

Overall, a hard-on-the-heart series. Three very entertaining games, despite the low scores, that could have gone either way on any night. My only regrets as a Cornell fan are that we didn't see more fans from Quinnipiac and that Zurevinski doesn't play for Cornell -- man, I hate that guy. :)

Best wishes for Q's future success.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '10-'11

Hey neighbors, great effort this post-season! Sounds like you gave Cornell all they could handle. I was fairly preoccupied with the Yale-SLU series, so I didn't get to read up much on your series. Did your usual suspects perform at their normal level? Anyone step up and above his typical performance? How did the game three overtime flow? Was it an inevitable game-winner, or a lucky break?

Taking the Red to a game three overtime at Lynah is an amazing feat. Great job!!

What was the Q turnout like? I really wanted to be there but couldn't find a date for the weekend! :o

Overall, I think we were gassed all game... just didn't seem to have any jump or sustained pressure. Overtime clearly belonged to Cornell, especially after 3 early icings. We were able to muster some pressure but obviously it wasn't enough.

Just prior to scoring our first goal I sent allnightwong a message saying "I think we're done". Yup, my optimism faded and I was really hoping we could hold Cornell to 2. Then boom!, we scored. They kept plugging and sure enough they tied it. As we headed to overtime I was cautiously optimistic because I figured we would carry the momentum. No such luck, but it was a valiant effort. They never quit.
