Quinnipiac Bobcats '10-'11

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '10-'11

How sweep it is!

A wonderful weekend by the Bobcats. Excellent goaltending by both Clarke last night and Hartzell tonight. While neither was really tested hard, they did what they had to and got great help out in front. Two games, two shutouts, two solid netminders. Rand has to be confident he can go with either one the rest of the way.

Everyone skated hard tonight. It was a much more physical game than yesterday's but never got too goonish. Lots of gritty play at both ends of the ice. Zach Hansen became a scoring machine, Langer showed what he's really made of, the D was terrific, and the role players stood tall. Possibly the two best games they've played all year, certainly the best back-to-back efforts.

We'll need to wait until tomorrow to see where we head next weekend. If SLU and Colgate lose we'll end up just a short ride down Whitney Ave. If one of them wins, it's off to Hanover, NH, and if both win their series, Ithaca here we come.

This weekend sweep should really give the boys a confidence boost and I think we can play with anyone in the league right now. We'll see where the chips fall in about 24 hours.

Nice job guys!

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '10-'11

With Harvard and SLU winning, we now know we won't be facing Union nor Yale in the Quarterfinals.

We'll soon find out where we'll be heading next weekend as RPI and Colgate are ready to start the third period tied 1-1.

RPI win = off to Dartmouth
Colgate win = off to Cornell

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '10-'11

Belated congratulations to the Bobcats. You gave my Union boys all they could handle this season, as in most, so I'm glad that if we do have to meet again it won't be until AC. Good luck next weekend.

And Ithaca it is!

BTW, it was great seeing the SEND HELP sign last night! ;)

Thank you and the same in return. Who knows, maybe we'll see each other in AC?

Lynah! Probably some of my best memories from college are from that road trip.

I highly recommend heading up there if you've never been. Great experience in Ithaca.

A visit to Lynah is on my bucket list but at the moment I don't have a travel partner. :( Probably won't stop me but I won't know for sure until later today. If I could only figure out a way to stowaway on the team bus... ;)

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '10-'11

Hopefully QU can make this playoff trip to Cornell as memorable as the last playoff trip to Cornell.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '10-'11

We're hoping you can sweep Cornell and get them out of TUC status. I'm not sure if I'd drive down wearing my Sabres jersey, but we still do hope you sweep again.

Hopefully this will have a different result. :)

That Cornell team had fallen off a cliff and that last weekend was really just putting them out of their misery.

This Cornell squad is very, very inconsistent. Nothing would surprise me this weekend -- a blowout win, a blowout loss, or three triple overtime games.

As long as nobody gets injured in the post game celebration!

Does anyone know if Cornell is on break? Trying to gauge what the crowd might be like.

Also interested in what the Q turnout might be. My plan is to be there but as of right now it looks like I'll be going solo.

QU's series at Cornell four years ago began on March 11th and Lynah was a rocking. So assuming Cornell has the same break schedule, I'd say that Cornell will have an excellent crowd. Though is there any time of the season that Cornell doesn't have an excellent crowd?

Mark, make Cornell happen even if you gotta go alone. You won't be sorry.... unless QU lays two eggs.

Cornell has enough of a hockey tradition, the student section (which goes from red line to red line on the opposite side of the opposing fan section), will be completely full. The "townie" side, as they call them, will also be packed. 4,000+ fans, I'd suspect.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats '10-'11

As of now it doesn't look like I'll be making the trip to Lynah. :(

That could change before the end of today but right now it's not looking too good. I know... call me a fair-weather fan... :o
