Quinnipiac Bobcats 09-10: Part II

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 09-10: Part II

Hey Q "faithful". Huge game tomorrow night in Hanover. The boys showed they still have that offensive power hidden somewhere when they peppered the Niagara goalies for 108 shots on the weekend.

With the Dartmouth game being a league game and a lower level league game at that, it is imperative that they turn around their season starting tomorrow night. It doesn't get any easier after that. I still think we will get a first round series but a bye is probably out of the question.

Let's not jump ship but instead support the team and stick with em til the bitter end.

Go Q!

They just have to come out firing against Dartmouth. I think that's a good game to get league play started up again.... hopefully will be a confidence booster. With Colgate and COrnell coming in next weekend we really need to squash this streak we've been having lately.

Wow.. so many loosing the faith. As a Red Sox fan for a long time, this is nothing! It is so difficult to make the NCAA tournament from the ECAC with an at large bid, especially if you aren't Cornell. A new season starts in playoffs. I'd rather see the slump now than heading into the playoffs. The boys will get back on track and make a strong run; I am a believer.

Haha, I was referring to the Minnesota Vikings who have replaced the Red Sox as the kings of fan pain and torture.

Shut up, you! :o :( :p Being a lifelong Viking fan I know all too well what pain is.

As for our beloved Bobcats, I agree that tomorrow night will be critical in setting up our run down the stretch. It's all league action from here and positioning is the name of the game. I haven't completely given up on a top 4 finish and the bye that goes with it, but I do think it's a long shot. Mid-pack 4 to 8 for home ice is attainable.

If we can start to convert some of those shots to goals we'll be fine. I know it sounds simple but really all we have to do is score. Even if we give up 3 or 4, scoring 5 or 6 still gets it done.

I'd like to see sustained pressure on the net. As wonger has been saying for weeks, less of those in-close stuff shots and more attempts from further out where there's a better chance for a rebound or three.

Has anyone heard a fat lady singing? I know I haven't. The road to Albany starts tomorrow night in Hanover, NH!

Go Q!

So Q-Man, You're a lifelong Vikings fan and now a Bob Katz fan. You have my sympathies. ;) Good luck to your boys against Dartmouth.

By the way, the Big Green have sent two players out here to the Avs in recent years. David Jones started the season by scoring 10 goals in 23 games before injuring his knee. T.J. Galliardi is playing well for the Avs this season as thus far he's 7-12-19 and a +6.

Jones may return to help the Avs should they reach the playoffs. T.J. is a solid two-way player and is generally a member of the Avs' top PK unit.

Have a good weekend Mark. My wife and I are heading to ski country again and looking forward to it.

Go Pioneers, beat the Sioux!

Who woulda guessed. Well I too am a life long Vikings fan... and they make me thankful that the Bobcats don't come tantalizingly close on a semi annual basis before a historical loss. Although, losing to Clarkson in the 2007 ECAC Championship game after being up 2-0 after 2 periods, is definitely something the Vikings would do if they played hockey.

There's five of us from the School of Business faculty making the trip to Dartmouth. It'll be a small but loud cheering section.

Go Q!

What makes it any easier for Cornell? They'll be lucky to get an at-large bid this year, too. :(

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 09-10: Part II

Huge game for our boys tonight. 2-2-1 @ Thompson over the past five seasons, so it hasn't been a fun place to play or a scary place to play. Again, the boys need to score first. They are still falling into a lull if they get behind early. A win tonight puts us in pretty good standing in the conference. A loss and we are dangerously close to the 8-9 area and with teams like Brown, Princeton and Dartmouth all playing better than their records indicate then we could be looking at going on the road for the first round. Which would be unfortunate seeing as how a playoff series is figured into our season ticket package.

No prediction. But I do see us playing well enough to win, simply going on how well we played offensively last weekend.

Let's take two and head home for Alumni weekend. For all those going, an on site recap would be nice within the days that follow, maybe even a pic :) ?

Go Q! 9 more tough conference tilts. It starts tonight!

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 09-10: Part II

Let's keep up with the shots on net and score some goals! Strong defense and our goalie needs to be on his game tonight!

Q can do this!
Let's go Bobcats!

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 09-10: Part II

Same old story. Not sure what the problem is but this team had better do some soul searching over the next week and get it straightened out.

I'd really like to know why it's so hard for us to get the puck into the net. There's no way it's hot goalies... we're just not making the right shots at the right time.

Ugh... gonna be a long week. Hopefully an energized Bank and a national TV audience will help us take the Big Red on Friday.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 09-10: Part II

I don't know what's wrong with your team... especially with Cornell and Colgate up next for you guys.

Will your 2 home games next week be sellouts? I'm hoping to make Saturday's game. Should I buy tickets in advance or will I have luck buying at the door? Thanks in advance.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 09-10: Part II

I can't believe it, another loss :(

I saw Clarke gave up 4 goals on 16 shots.

Please tell me that they were not soft goals.

I'll be at the Bank Friday hoping to see a win

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 09-10: Part II

Prob will be ok Rainman. There's tix readily available on the school athletic web site now if you're so inclined.

Guys, I'm ready to go down w/ the ship but did you expect anything else from this game?

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 09-10: Part II

From what I was able to see on the video feed 2 of them were. Both times he was totally out of position leaving the net wide open. One goal was a text book back door where he couldn't get post-to-post (another one of his weaknesses) in time. If he steals just one of them...

I don't want to lay all the blame for last night on Clarke but the goalie has to step up occasionally. We've seen it time and time again from the opposition. One or two big saves in clutch situations can change the momentum in a game and we could really use some of that. It's just depressing to watch them skate well enough to win but not be able to pull it off. :(

The good news is we can't lose tonight, though we will likely lose a lot of ground in the standings. :o

Keep in mind both games are 8:00 starts and televised on CBS College Sports. It's also alumni weekend at the Q so there's a potential for a huge crowd. It might be wise to buy ahead of time just in case.
