Providence College Friars, the best off-season ever!

Re: Providence College Friars, the best off-season ever!

Assistant Coach Steve Miller is out according to multiple sources....He didn't last long in Providence at all.

Re: Providence College Friars, the best off-season ever!

Family should always come first......he won't be unemployed for long and thank you for all you did for PC

Re: Providence College Friars, the best off-season ever!

Great way to go out, well deserved. One of the good guys out there, and a very, very good coach to boot

Coach Murphy moving up? I know other schools recruiting

Re: Providence College Friars, the best off-season ever!

We can only hope the PC fan base remembers the kids words in this article "I am not Jon Gillies, I play a different game" and give him lots of room.....he is a Freshman

PC hockey on the first page of the Projo sports section, top of fold...in May! Amazing!

Will be actually the same age as Gillies was this season by the end of the year.

And that means what???? You can climb all over him like you did Gillies??? He is still a Freshman

Must be the beginning phase of his toughening the goalie program. Build up expectations so you knock them when those expectations are not met

Re: Providence College Friars, the best off-season ever!

And this equates to what, you sharpening up your knife for the kill as you are the ultimate Goaltender judge......you really need to get a real life
Older student athlete which means more mature...hey he might actually not get suspended from a key conference matchup!

We just got a good commitment from Jordan Kawaghuchi

Bottom line I Agree with Hokey. Mayotte is in his 2nd year at PC, a couple of years at SLU, a a couple of volunteer years. He is also a Leaman guy, at Union as a transition player. He has been the lead recruiter. Similar to what Murphy was at PC. Clearly Murphy was a special leader getting the C before ever playing for PC. Then you can find another of your guys who is just out of PC as your director of hockey operations

Re: Providence College Friars, the best off-season ever!

Apparently we can add St. Teresa of Avila to the list of possible culprits who knocked in the third goal against BU. Also, a community of cloistered nuns in Barrington was praying to St. Teresa for the team's success, which is just about the greatest thing I've ever heard.

Great story, kind of like that scene in Cinderella Man when the priest was praying for Jim Bradock
