Providence College 2010-2011 - Things are looking up.

Re: Providence College 2010-2011 - Things are looking up.

I'd like to see either associate head coach Mike Bavis (BU), associate head coach Mike Cavanuagh (BC) or Sean Tremblay head coach (Jr. Monarchs)

I don't know if they'd leave their current jobs to take over this floundering program but I'd love to see any one of these coaches take the helm.

I think this will be the biggest problem Driscoll will hit....who wants to clean up a train wreck, his only break is he will have a stud in net for his first year and the opposition will be blinded by a fan with purple pants sitting at the glass

Re: Providence College 2010-2011 - Things are looking up.

Well Hoky(sic), the fact that they can recruit high end Massachusetts players, their connections in the local ie Northeast hockey (not hoky) community allows them to recruit more talented players...the Coyles, Krieders, Hayeses...do I need to list more?

As a frequent viewer and new poster, I have noticed Hoky besides your poor spelling, you seem belligerent and not too hockey savvy

Sorry my foolish friend, if you think the Kreiders, Hayes, Coyles etc of the Northeast had PC in their top ten, you are the belligerent one. Has never happened and never will. That doesnt sound like a BC/BU model but a pipe dream. If you had said the NU or UML model, aka more ushl and bchl over agers, yes that would work and any new coach will put it in place. Thats why a Rick Bennett is sucha strong canidate. He can talk with and work with every coach in those leagues and they respect and like him. If you look at his track record and the kids they have pushed his way, with zero scholarships, just think how well he would do if he offered same kids 20 or 30K off a year or a 3/4 etc.

Enjoy the board PC, I mean realhockeydad....

Shame on you Hoky(sic) I guess you are not really a PC fan...if you were you would want to compete for the top New England talents, you would want the program to soar not settle. Then again maybe that is what happened with your spelling skills, you just settled.

Why can't PC get the best, we deserve it.

You might want to get a dictionary to look up belligerent. When you can figure that out, you will also know never to call me a friend of yours. I had to take two showers after reading that.

As far as coaching candidates, I would like Casey Jones from Cornell. Great track record, stuck behind a lifer in the top spot. I could also get behind Bavis or Cavanaugh. A year ago I would have considered Albie O'Connell a great catch but that was before the violations.

LOL at you Hokydope. Let's try not to get it twisted, okay? Manny er I mean Hokydad. All the older posters here remember you setting up another account and coming on here to praise yourself. Remember Manny? We still do and I recall us all laughing you off the boards on that one.
I love pulling your strings and making you dance but I'm starting to feel bad that I've made you this paranoid..... Nah not really! I actually think that it's SUPER FUNNY!!!

So a new poster, whose been following your posts as ours, signs up and proceeds to call you out for being a tool and you think it's me. Too funny clownshoes. Here's a clue for you. WE all think that you are a tool bag. You know that I think that you are a sissy who hides behind a computer so you can feel like a big man when the truth is you'd wet yourself if I ever met you in person. I also think that you are a troll and so many other things that I've said straight out, without ever deleting it myself.
So why would I ever waste my time setting up another account in order to say things that I have always told you anyway???? The answer is that I wouldn't and didn't but I do love that the thought is in your head Manny.

News flash: We all think that you are a D-bag. Even the new guy!!! :)

Too funny. You are so full of it but believe whatever you need to. So I outsmarted the system? Thanks for the credit. Your crush on me is truly a thing of wonder. You do realize that they can check URL's and track that stuff there genius. Is it so hard for you to accept that sometimes the simplest explanation is the answer???? Some else finds you to be a joke. Deal with it.

If he would be interested in it, I really like Mike Cav for this job. He has a tremendous recruiting track record, which means he knows the right people and can sell the product. Has anyone else consistently done a better job recruiting in the last 15 years? Cav has been instrumental in three NCAA Championships, from a recruiting and coaching perspective. His PK unit is always top of the league and kids like playing for him. Finally, he does things the right way, never a sniff of violations or illegal activity. Not only would the program benefit from his coaching and recruiting, but the kids would benefit from his dedication to character development. His values are in the right place.

No offense to the BU team or fans, but from an outsiders view, they had their best years both recruiting wise and hockey wise, when David Quinn was on board. That's why Bavis doesn't strike me as a great candidate, I personally don't believe he has the make-up to be a great head coach. Just my opinion, great guy though.

Good luck with the search. Hope it's the start of PC regaining their once proud hockey program.

Re: Providence College 2010-2011 - Things are looking up.

Am I on the college hockey forum or the teenage girl forum? sheesh.

I hope they announce a new coach soon.

Re: Providence College 2010-2011 - Things are looking up.

Any idea who has been contacted for the position yet or if anyone has shown interest? We've heard David Quinn which is a name I could support and Rick Bennett but if he is visiting other schools I guess that is not going to happen.

I am a completely different person than 91, integrity is important Hoky(sic), evidently along with spelling it is a lesson you missed.

I'd like to see Coach Cavanaugh, Coach Tremblay then Coach Bavis as coachhere at Providence, in that order. I don't believe that Coach Cavanaugh will leave BC. They have already spoken to Quinn. I;m sure they have already tested the waters with Rick Bennett and will speak to other candidates after Driscoll returns from the Frozen Four.

I wouldn't expect anything for a few more weeks.

If you are me then how are we on line at the same time and posting at the same time???? HHHHHmmmmmmm. I guess the obvious answer is that you are not me. Weird!!!

Quinn is out, said he is going up with NHL club and not going college route.
Word is cav, bennett, peters, lasonde and borack are the 5 left standing. would guess cav and bennett are focus 2.

I hope David Lassonde stays at UNH. He is the reason UNH has had a long string of outstanding goalies (Conklin, Ayers, Regan, Foster, DiGirolamo).

OK. Gotta call BS on you once again there Hoky.

Raise your hand if you believe that Dave Quinn would give Hokydud the time of day. (Que crickets)

I'm sure Quinn was hanging out in your "double-wide" down at the trailer park, shooting the breeze about his future. ;)

Too funny. Make sure you bring the wife her smokes and her scratch tickets on your way back to the Casa. You don't want her slapping you around again.
