Still haven't been banned, eh?:D

Nah! Not a snowballs chance of that happening!!! The mods are well aware of Hokyclown and the constant vulgar neg reps that he leaves us all filled with constant homophobic and derogatory commments aboutpeoples sexualality', illnesess of loved ones and his vulgar language. The mods know that Hokydud is the poster child for internet toughguy and aren't going to fault anyone for giving him a taste of his own medicine by using his words against him.

What hokydud doesn't ever seem to take into account is that the mods can read the nasty messages he leaves on our reps so it makes him playing the victim most laughable.

It's our fault. I pretended to be Rimbaud and that set him over the edge...

Incidentally, I'm much less optimistic this go around than I was after Pooley resigned.
If Fred has any rose colored glasses, that would be great.

I believe I sent my last pair to PCFriars13.

Same here. I see no way PC makes the playoffs next season either with the players they lost.

This is going to be a long-term rebuilding project...no way around it.

Re: Providence College 2010-2011 - Things are looking up.

This is why I believe a new coach would want to come here, first a shot at HE and second a fan base that does not expect a miracle right away.....he will be given some time to develop a program, how much money will allotted to fix the facility is one big question he will need answered

Theoretically I might agree with you. Certainly, except for the miracle part, I think that would apply to the basketball program. I think hockey is a different animal though. First how patient is the fanbase going to be? I guess if you have no fan base it will be very patient. However the program needed an overhaul when Army took over and it woul take time. People were already very negative by year 2. Next with far fewer jobs a lot of 2nd in commands, the top assistant is already associate head coach, in many cases a posiition that is better than head coch at PC. Then you bring up the deal breaker. Support. Again I heard in the part of the Maine/Merrimack game I saw them menton how important the program had become to Merrimack and how it was a source of pride. If I'm looking at a perspective job I'm not buying what PC is selling. Let's face it 10 years into his job Driscoll's word means *#($. The school's track record for following through on promises is non existent. Whether Army helped tie the knot that hung himself, they certainly hung him out to dry. This facility thing whether they have plans or not, since they had them when Army took over, is just words till they do something. You note the new guy would need that question answered. I'd want hard proof. The other engine that drives how large your list of candidates is will be how much you will pay. I suspect they will look to pay more in the neighborhood of what Pooley was making rather then them trying to match Army's salary which was good.

I'm onvinced we stand a chance of having a perfect season next year.

No wins in Hockey East at all. In the preseason poll I think I'd pick for the team to finish somewhere in the club league URI belongs to.

The next 2 years are going to be god awful since we pretty much are locked into the team we have. At best I think we could scrounge up a 2 for 4 scholarship for some forward, but even that might have been partially spent when they got the Gorman committment. I think they would have gone for a walk on to replace Golden. Without a coach that is not likely to happen unless something is done fast. It means your reserve forwards from this year fill at least 2 slots in the starting lineup. In the 38 games they got into (and Ferullo got in none) they had a grand total of 1 goal and 4 assists. That isn't even including the disappointments from Bergland and Jamnick who did play regularly. Worse if you look at the way the money is available unless the new coach can convince talent to come for partials (which Pooley couldn't he overpaid, nor Army who split them so much he got a team of 3rd and 4th liners) we have no real money to offe the following class. I'd say the only close to full boat they have is reserved for Beaudrys replacement. Beyond that you use a partial to replace New, Balysky is a walk on, Bergland's moeny is slated for Norris. By alotting 2 full boats in the incoming class as well as 2 3 for 4's my calculations figures we have already spent Maloney's and Brown's money. Does not leave much room for improvement for awhile

Re: Providence College 2010-2011 - Things are looking up.

Also note we will have 3 of our 18 scholarships for next year tied up in goaltenders. 2 seniors, 1 juniors so they are not even spaced well

I think Fred's rose colored glasses just imploded.

Incidentally, Jamie Russell at MTU joins Army, Comley and McDonald on the sidelines. Nobody give Driscoll any ideas...

Did anyone see this letter in the Projo today? It's in the Projo Nation section.
Here it is:

Worst loss of season for P.C. hockey

Providence College men’s hockey program lost much more than its head coach recently. The resignation of Coach Tim Army marked a sad day for the college, community, and the student athletes associated with the men’s hockey program.

The apparent dismissal of Coach Army, a Providence College alumnus and former All-American hockey player, is another example of an athletic director’s losing sight of a coach’s contribution to his school, student athletes, and community. Obviously Athletic Director Bob Driscoll’s evaluation of a program is based solely on wins and losses, ahead of academic success, community service and the growth of young student athletes entrusted to Coach Army by parents throughout the country. I do realize that winning is important, but ultimately shouldn’t the college be just as proud of the student athletes that it graduates?

Providence College has suffered its biggest loss of the season in losing Coach Army. It takes time to recruit and build a winning program in any Division I sport, never mind in the Hockey East, arguably the number-one conference in the country.

Mr. Driscoll will find another coach, but he will never find one with the passion and true love that Coach Army has for Providence College. Perhaps it is time for the college to look at replacing an athletic director whose shortsightedness has caused a loss that can never be measured in only wins and losses.

Re: Providence College 2010-2011 - Things are looking up.

Considering that no rational fan of PC hockey would ever write something like that, it had to have been written by one of two people: Hokydad or Mrs. Army. We know the former can't spell so that process of elimination only leaves one other possibility. lol.

Seriously this line -- "It takes time to recruit and build a winning program in any Division I sport, never mind in the Hockey East, arguably the number-one conference in the country" -- is just crazy. 6 seasons was more than enough time.

Do you have an application on your computer that keeps all this data
