Providence - 2009-10 What is in the glass?

Re: Providence - 2009-10 What is in the glass?

That is exactly the point. Fans dont need you or anyone to "explain" or to tell them to be happy or not. If you are that miserable and don't like it, good for you. If I or someone else wants to go to the MC v PC game and enjoy it, thats our right,.

We dont need three or four PC supposed fans to stand on top of a car out front and scream at us over and over again that the world is coming to an end, the coach stinks, the team isnt trying and that we should all be miserable.

You missed a nice game and missed watching MF and JC play their last games....

Upward and onward

You're not a PC fan. Stop pretending that you are.

BTW if you don't think the fans here who discuss the team are representative of "the fanbase," then explain why hundreds of season ticket holders have stopped going to the games over the years. Explain why the rink is almost completely empty.

The obvious likelihood is these opinions you don't like are shared by the majority of the fans who stopped going, because they weren't interested in supporting the direction of the program. If they were, they'd still be going...but they're not.

if you are that miserable and don't like it, good for you

That's not what you said before -- you said if PC fans weren't going to be positive, to stay away and go buy a dog so you can kick it. The great irony is that, since you aren't even a PC fan, I have no clue why you feel like you have a right to tell OTHER FANS how to think. Which is what you do, constantly, on this entire board.

The program survived when Tom Barraso and Bob carpenter went pro instead of coming, I am sure they can handle this.

And who was coaching the team when it happened?

And how many fans went to the games when that happened?

And who was overseeing the athletic department when it happened?

And how good was the team at that time when it happened?

How you can actually say something like that -- like the state of PC hockey today is like it was back in the early '80s -- is why nobody takes you seriously.

This program is big time trouble and may indeed be on life support if changes aren't made. Nobody else here has disputed that except you. Some of us might disagree on the blame game, how much Army is responsible, etc., but you're on an island of one if you think everything is just peachy fine and will be okay if things keep going as they have been.

Speaking of that, as much as I enjoy a good debate, I finally discovered the ignore list (I apologize to everyone it took me so long), so I'll let others keep sparring with you. You're not worth the time it takes to type a reply.

Yeah it did and immediately after PC made two final four appearences (it wasn't frozen yet) and a string of NCAA appearances along with several ECAC and Hockey East final four appearances. A PC ticket was the hottest ticket in town then.

If there were 700 people in the seats Friday night I would be shocked. The place was quite empty.

You do make me smile though. :)

He criticizes the conversation instead of the reason why people are irritated -- he has no problem bashing you, me, or anyone else, but if Tim Army ever has a bad word written against him he trots out a Holocaust reference.

For me that was the last straw, really. It's a worthless discussion in every way, and not worth my time anymore. I just wish I knew more about the Ignore List before -- but it's the first time in years I've had to use it. ;)

Exacty what I am talking about. You are so jaded and negative you do nothing but try and find a negative out of everything. We are not talking about 17 years ago.

Or are we? In your new long term perspective world PC is a top 4 program

Re: Providence - 2009-10 What is in the glass?

and your predictions and excitement for 100 didnt happen

now you can sit around all summer and pray for a bunch of kids to lose.

Amazing that you would sacrafice 20 kids and not pull for them in their only chance ever tp play D 1 hockey so a team could lose 100

have a great summer and I hope you were not holding your breath.

Sarcasm.

No one wanted this to team to go into a tail spin. But we all knew it was going to happen.

Google maps works better.

Re: Providence - 2009-10 What is in the glass?

Nope, the same 3 or 4 people writing 100 times and predicting the date they lose number 100 about sums it up.

Re: Providence - 2009-10 What is in the glass?

Says the man who tells people to be happy, and then starts insulting them when they don't.

Proof:
Go watch next year and be positive...

If you really think that these PC fans don't want the players to succeed, you're out of your mind. They criticize because they see a program in decline (much like Merrimack fans just a few years back when they won just 3 games all season), and get upset because they are such passionate fans. It's a good thing. Ask any major league baseball player if he'd rather play in front of 30,000+ in Boston/NY/Chicago, even though those fans might pick apart every bad at bat, or in front of 600 in Miami, where they can walk into the stands after the game and retrieve their own home run balls. Guarantee 99% of them (even the college-aged guys) would answer the bigger market.

The best way for a program in decline to deal with criticism and negativity? Improve, or at least make the effort to do so. Providence, from what I've seen, has not done that, and they have been losing fans, many of whom had once been diehards, as a result.

Sorry for being a rain clud. I'll go post about nothing elsewhere.
