Re: Providence - 2009-10 What is in the glass?
I let guys like you write 94 negative posts and wallow in misery.
The discussion reflects the situation of the program. If you think people here were "wallowing in misery" last season or still are -- it's because
the team finished 7-22-5. Not our fault what the record was. Not our fault the team is still in 9th place
this season. To me, real fans discuss the good AND the bad times, not just whistle past the graveyard when the going gets tough. Speaking of which...
I didn't pile on when they were losing because I don't care whena team loses, its a game.
Of course it's just a game. So why can't you just enjoy the wins for what they are -- a couple of
regular season victories that came after a two-month winless streak. Not the sign that, all of a sudden, the team is suddenly on track to make the NCAAs with all this "great young talent" and a coach who has been a bust thus far deserves Hall of Fame consideration. Your pronouncements are absolutely laughable when you "don't care when a team loses." By not paying attention to what happens in every game, not just when they win, your opinions have no context at all.
Let me ask you what is most important in the overall context of a team's season -- winning 2 games or going 2 months without winning 1?
You enjoy the good times and shrug off the bad ones.
If you want to just "shrug off" one of the worst seasons ever in the history of this program, be my guest. By your logic performance and records don't even matter, you just care about the team winning a handful of games.
They beat BU and Maine, two very good hockey programs in one weekend.
But they're not "very good' THIS YEAR. You do realize that, right? BU went through a 4 wins in 14 game streak. You think that's "good"? Maine's hardly even ranked in the Top 20, for a team in the "upper tier" of the conference that's not impressive either.
Ask BC. They didn't seem to chipper as they walked off Fenway, a game they would have killed to have won
Ask them what? My god man, it's a
regular season game. Most teams would "kill" to win an
NCAA game in March and April -- I don't think they were that broken up over losing once to BU in January (who they beat before, and can win the season series against tonight). By your reasoning, Since PC beat BU, once, and BC lost to them at Fenway, once, PC must be having a better year. Unfortunately trophies aren't handed out based on a couple of weekends in a very long season.
Your lack of reasoning continues to astound everyone here...it's certainly entertaining, even if it's for all the reasons you don't intend!
