Re: Providence - 2009-10 What is in the glass?

I sure hope PC continues the winning streak tonight. It will be a big win over #16 UHN. Maybe#1's special friend will come down from Durham.

Heck if PC wins tonight I think there ought to be a bonfire to celebrate.

:)

Bonfire, parade, Stanley Cup awarded and a medal ceremony featuring the National Anthem.

But if they lose oh well. We'll get 'em tomorrow!

Re: Providence - 2009-10 What is in the glass?

Ask them what? My god man, it's a regular season game. Most teams would "kill" to win an NCAA game in March and April -- I don't think they were that broken up over losing once to BU in January (who they beat before, and can win the season series against tonight). By your reasoning, Since PC beat BU, once, and BC lost to them at Fenway, once, PC must be having a better year. Unfortunately trophies aren't handed out based on a couple of weekends in a very long season.

Your lack of reasoning continues to astound everyone here...it's certainly entertaining, even if it's for all the reasons you don't intend![/QUOTE]

you are not everyone, get over yourself

you take every situation and twist the facts

bc wanted the fenway game very, very bad. stupid to say otherwise

Re: Providence - 2009-10 What is in the glass?

PC down 1-0 after 1. UNH broadcasters are too busy babbling about PWR and how awesome it is to beat Dartmouth (sigh) to tell me how the two teams have looked, but it seems Beaudry let in a softy...

Re: Providence - 2009-10 What is in the glass?

PC still down by 1. Ian O'Connor scores for PC.

Re: Providence - 2009-10 What is in the glass?

I just took Hokydad's glass and smashed in on the ****ing floor.

This is what I think of optimism!!!

Well a cheap goal in the 1st for UNH , Alex got lazy and gave away the post......Harvey played well above what a freshman should have, he saved the bacon at least 4 times in the third......OT loss was caused by forwards not looking around and picking up the cutters.......do not know why the first face-off in OT in UNH zone Schaller did not even try to win it, he never moved his stick so we did not win the draw.......we took a few dumb penalties and really did not move the puck well at all.......one more game left in the schedule from h***

Re: Providence - 2009-10 What is in the glass?

Oh well, tomorrow is another day. I'm sure the team will bounce back against the Mack.

BU 5 BC 4 Yes, BU sucks

Need a win tonight vs a team struggling but who plays very good at home

Re: Providence - 2009-10 What is in the glass?

Yes, BU sucks

I never wrote that BU sucked. I disagreed with your statement that BU was very good this season, which is what their record indicates at 8-10-3. By your measure of success obviously 8-10-3 is worthy of NCAA consideration.

How about this -- and maybe you'll understand this more clearly -- Hockey East, as a conference, on JANUARY 23, isn't very good this year. It certainly isn't chock full of NCAA candidates, and judging by how UNH and BC played last night, lacks any team that resembles a powerhouse.

No team has fewer than 7 losses, at 12-7 and 11-7 BC and UNH are the best the league has right now -- which is not especially impressive, as I have written previously. Someone goes on an extended hot streak that can change -- but right now Hockey East would struggle to get more than 2 teams into the NCAAs. And BU would not be even up for consideration at this point.

So if you think BU is that good, their record, and the overall performance of the league TO DATE so far, indicate otherwise.

I agree with you there.

The Battle for the Basement will not likely draw a big crowd...if PC can't take this game the only drama left this year likely will be who finishes 9th or 10th.

Re: Providence - 2009-10 What is in the glass?

you do the exact same thing

want to talk about bowling green some more?

time to move on

2-2 with an ot loss vs bu, me, unh and northeastern is a start

BU has had a really bad year, but they have seemed to pick it up in the 2nd half of the year with solid wins against BC (2) and UMass, both who are in the top 10 of the PWR. UNH is on an extended hot streak (9-1-2 in their last 12 games). As a league, Hockey East is down this year, for sure. The non-conference results against the big conferences is really bad (especially UNH, though they had an ambitious early non-con schedule with 2 vs. Miami and 2 at Wisco, both who easily handled them, save for the 5-5 tie at home vs. Miami where they blew a lead, I think UNH was up 5-2)...

That said, RIGHT NOW, Hockey East has 3 teams solidly in the tournament (UMass, BC and UNH) and one at 14t that would be in if it ended today and if Bemidji won the CHA tourney....

Re: Providence - 2009-10 What is in the glass?

Gib thanks for the insight. Makes sense especially if there aren't any conf tourney upsets.

Hokydad, my friend, perhaps we don't disagree so much as go about the thought process differently. Either way we both agree this is a critical game and the Friars will be in rough shape without a win.

It will be a whiteout at MC and they need the win.

Be safe...
