Prospective Top Freshman in 2012-13

Re: Prospective Top Freshman in 2012-13

Grimaldi is a sophomore. I find it pretty funny that UND fanboys are supporting NCAA rules that say he is a freshman. I thought all you sugar beet farmers were against NCAA rules? I guess since you couldn't win without a bunch of overage Canadians, you added a bunch of Canucks, and now even got your own midget a year older.
Ah poor little happy. So concerned about what us beet farmers think. The obsession continues. Carry on.

I can sense your dislike of Grimaldi... I wonder if it has anything to do with him skating circles around the goofs last year on a bum knee.

Can we end the 3 page thread hijack and stop talking about Grimaldi, Christ you'd think he was your kid or something.

Don't be grumpy that Northeastern doesn't have a player on the level of Rocco. A crazy idea here, if you want something besides Grimaldi to be discussed, for your fourth post in this thread express your opinion on the thread topic rather than whining about what others are doing.

Yup, I'm jealous...

Here's a crazy idea; stick to the topic. The thread title doesn't say "Should Grimaldi be counted as a freshman?"

I'm sure he'll be great and there's nothing wrong with discussing as it is partially relevant but this pointless back and forth has been going on for what, 3 pages now? Both sides are preaching to the choir which should've been figured out 2.5 pages ago.

Do you have another freshman to discuss, since you're obviously board with hockeyTebow?

Re: Prospective Top Freshman in 2012-13

Matheson from BC will be in the conversation. Will play top 4 minutes and see power play and possibly pk time. Had a great 2nd half last year after a bit of an adjustment period in the USHL.

He's not the one who got hurt, that's Silk right?

I don't claim to know the recruiting classes of the 59 division one programs, but I'd like to know more which is what this thread was about.

In Hockey East there's Matheson, Kurker, Roy etc. to discuss..I'd be happy to know more about other top-rated WCHA or CCHA rookies so throw some down.

I mentioned some earlier, but in my opinion, the top freshman forward this year will be Mario Lucia at Notre Dame. The kid is damm good. I also like Mike Reilly as an offensive defensman at the U.

I think Lucia is going to be good too, but I really think Joey Benik is going to have a big freshman year for the Huskies. Watched a lot of Penticton games last season and his poise and vision really impress me.

Both have impressive BCHL numbers. You think Lucia will be the best in the CCHA or nationwide?

The BCHL is an offensive league. A blind man could score 10 goals in that league. I never get to excited about what kind of numbers kids get there. Inflated to say the least.

I know it's very offensive but regardless still good numbers to put up in a 1980's NHL-style league. Certainly 25 in 20 with the USNTDP is much more eye-opening than the same in the BCHL.

Agreed. I don't care what league it is. What Penticton did last season was **** impressive, and both players looked dominant. Both will have big impacts this season IMO.

Like usual, you are wrong. I really like Rocco, and think it would help him get into Heaven if he didn't wear a racist and hostile uniform, and switched to one of God's chosen animals, the Gopher. That being said, I watched him play college hockey last year as a freshman, so he is a sophomore. Simple math.

Correct. The makeup of the roster looked more like a USHL team (commitments, Americans, ages, etc). The results reflect what a any decent USHL team would have accomplished. Ergo, Lucia and Benik could be expected to do as well as any top players from the USHL. I think both will do well, but the Huskies may lean on Benik a bit more than the Irish lean on Lucia.

Good, you saw that game... I thought I was going to have to post the highlight reel. Knowing you I thought you were going to say something crazy like Rocco did not make the gophers look silly last year.
