Pretty sure you're thinking of "Flyin" Brian Pillman. But he was in a feud with Goldust at the time.

THANK YOU. I knew someone would know.

I go to the box now, and feel shame, for bad memory.

They had Edge... come out to plug a show on syfy.... before trying to make this Bryan/Kane thing seem new and interesting? And then they cut to commercial in the middle of the ****ing segment!

Just got home from working at the RAW show at the Bryce Jordan Center. It was deja vu all over again. The crowd contained the same mix of people and the bouts were scripted almost move for move as back when I was a cop working Sunday night wrestling at Maple Leaf Gardens 30+ years ago! :D

I was ringside for the bouts and then in the stage door parking lot after the event. Scripted or not, those guys are athletes, and it was a hoot to see them all come out and jump in their individual cars and drive off to the next event.

Apparently The Big Show is the 21st Century Andre the Giant. Still miss the Sheik -- the ultimate baddie!

Iron Sheik's Twitter is legendary (and very NSFW.) If you don't follow him you have the raisin balls rice krispie dick.

I think he's talking about The Original Sheik...Sabu's uncle.

Right you are DL. His real name was Ed Farhat.

Starting in 1969, he also wrestled regularly in Toronto, where he was undefeated for 127 matches at Maple Leaf Gardens. He defeated the likes of Whipper Billy Watson, Lou Thesz, Gene Kiniski, Bruno Sammartino, Édouard Carpentier, Ernie Ladd, Jay Strongbow and even André the Giant during Andre's first extensive tour of North America in 1974. It was Andre who put an end to the Sheik's Toronto winning streak in August 1974. Sheik continued to headline most shows in Toronto until 1977, but business dropped off significantly over the last three years.

Well that was a waste of an hour (because that's how long it took to fast-forward through a 3-hour Raw).

I don't think I can handle this tripe anymore, I'm thinking bail.

Punk is boring, I want Shane-o-mac.

mean street posse!!!! :D

Re: Professional Wrestling Thread: Sign It Before The Stock Plummets Some More

So there's a big thing about Punk smacking a fan in the crowd during his getaway at the end of Raw. My question is this: even if someone pushed him from behind, is he justified in swinging wildly and hitting whoever was back there? What if that had been some guy with his kid on his shoulder who slipped?

Re: Professional Wrestling Thread: Sign It Before The Stock Plummets Some More

Former NWA, WCW, & WWE wrestler Brad Armstrong, 51, was found dead at his home this morning. This comes less than two weeks after former Chapmionship Wrestling from Florida wrestler Mike Graham was found dead at 61 of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

I was a HUGE Brad Armstrong fan back in the early/mid-90s. How can you get any more old school than your finish being the Side Russian Leg Sweep? :(

Re: Professional Wrestling Thread: Sign It Before The Stock Plummets Some More

So the whole screw Goldberg over angle was just a way to bring in this chump as a wrestler? Really?

He was a wrestler down in FCW for a long time. About time they came up with a new way to bring someone in.

So Smackdown is coming to Anchorage in January.

Main events are listed as Lobster Head/Big Show and Orton/Del Rio. DBD/Kane are being mentioned, but not listed for the event on the WWE site.

Anyone been to these? What to expect?

Clearly you need to make a funny sign for it. Maybe something about how you want a cage match between Vince and Gary Bettman.
