Re: Professional Wrestling Thread: Sign It Before The Stock Plummets Some More

Jerry Lawler went into convulsions and was just carried away from the announcers' table. Possible heart attack. Not part of show.

I feel like a real jerk for thinking this was a work. Ugh. Hope he's OK.

Re: Professional Wrestling Thread: Sign It Before The Stock Plummets Some More

Lawler is in stable condition.

Re: Professional Wrestling Thread: Sign It Before The Stock Plummets Some More

I would think after the Owen Hart incident, Vince and company would be smart enough to have a guy just keeling over being a part of the storyline.

There's the rub. I remember them cleanly dropping the storyline involving one of the Killer B's back in the day after the guy died. But they've done some really tasteless/bad stuff in the past.

Glad (in a way) I keep tabs on this thread, even though I haven't watched WWE in years. The King is awesome. A legend.

True, but if they where going to be that dumb, they would have waited til the end of the show to have him fake a heart attack.

Re: Professional Wrestling Thread: Sign It Before The Stock Plummets Some More

So was this on camera or was this something that they were able to cut away from for the most part? I can't find any YouTube video of the incident... Just reaction and commentary from fans... I'm curious as to what TV viewers actually saw....

Re: Professional Wrestling Thread: Sign It Before The Stock Plummets Some More

Fox Sports is reporting that "The King" suffered either a heart attack or stroke. I'm about to go watch the show...but I'm not really looking forward to it. Jerry's been a huge part of every Monday night for me over the last 20 years. Hope he's OK.

I can't even imagine how Cole felt that whole time having to sit there by himself.

Killer Bees? Jim Brunzell & Brian Blair are both still alive.

Re: Professional Wrestling Thread: Sign It Before The Stock Plummets Some More

I've been preaching that I don't like "realistic" injury works in the ring (throwing the X, paramedics, Owen voices, etc.) Last night is exactly the reason why.

Re: Professional Wrestling Thread: Sign It Before The Stock Plummets Some More

Tests found pretty big problems. He had 3 stents put in, more tests/observation coming.

Rumor mill is he was clinically dead for about 20 minutes. If that's the case, we've probably seen the last of him on TV.

****, and to think he was in the ring there a few minutes earlier having a match.....

Hell, truthfully, with all of the staff that the WWE does have on hand, having that heart attack there was probably the best thing for him as they were able to get to him so quickly. Three stents in sounds like it qualifies to be a "Widowmaker" heart attack.

My buddy said his dad had the same thing happen and he lived another 25 years and went back to work in less than a month.

Who was the guy that died? I thought he was a B. IIRC, he was found dead in Minneapolis, had something going with Kane, and they immediately stopped the story. Died in a hotel room, drug OD, if that helps.

Eddie Guerrero

Re: Professional Wrestling Thread: Sign It Before The Stock Plummets Some More

Really? Crap my rasslin' memory is bad. I thought that the Eddie storyline was newer than the one I was thinking of.
off the top of my head, Eddie has pretty much the only one who has OD in the Twin Cities. I don't think Eddie really had anything going on with Kane as far as the story line went, but I wasn't watching it much around then.

About the only storyline angle that I can remember WWE dropping from Kane was that God awful one where Triple H was accusing him of getting it on with his dead HS friend. ICK!!

I wanna say this was late 90's, maybe maybe early 2000's.
