Maybe to some extent but its not always that complicated. Republicans from Chump on down want to take away their heath care coverage, be it Medicare or subsidized insurance. That's a pretty easy concept for even the stupidest person to be able to understand. At some point people need to have the intelligence that God gave the common dog and figure it out, or they can keep getting screwed. I don't buy the concept that every low income voter who keeps choosing Republicans is just really some misunderstood sap being taking advantage of. Most of them get what they deserve.

This is absolutely right. If media outlets like MSNBC wanted to move the needle, they would have a ticker on the bottom of the screen with adjusted income growth of the 1% and 50%. They wouldn’t announce housing starts, they’d announce medical bankruptcies. They wouldn’t announce DJIA, they’d announce total cumulative student debt.

That’s the thing, I’m not sure they even understand that Medicare is the government. The masses of poor white Republicans let themselves be convinced the Dems want to rob them of it. They think that when the Dems want to raise taxes, they want to raise it on them. The Dems should just say the first $75k is tax free a la mookie. No taxes. None. Uncap social security. Make sure you message it that only incomes above 100k single are impacted.

The Dems just suck infinite a-ss at messaging.

I'm going to suggest something that is sacrilegious. The CW is that Dems are intelligent and so we realize complex questions involve complex analysis, and then we lose the morons in the electorate who need everything dumbed down. And on the face of it that sure seems reasonable. However, Bill Clinton and Obama both provided nuanced answers to questions and they were both wildly popular, so my suggestion is stop worrying about that and just find THE MOST CHARISMATIC CANDIDATE you possibly can and run them. F-cking run Oprah. After 75 years of teevee the electorate is so childish it only responds to personality, so give them personality.
