If only we could convince him that the Republicans are also wrong on economics, abortion, and guns. If we could do that then we'd have something.

Bill Kristol is one reason we reached this point. He can DIAF.

Re: POTUS: It Can Happen Here Again

Given the stakes involved I'll accept Kristol's help to defeat the Nazis while keeping an eye on him at all times. However I feel he's a lot like George Conway. He's not opposed the Chump and the cult on principle. He's opposed to them because his lofty status within the GOP hierarchy has been reduced to irrelevance.

Re: POTUS: It Can Happen Here Again

51% of Americans say Trump should be *removed.* Only 45% say he shouldn't

69% say Senate trial should feature new witnesses

58% say Trump abused his power

57% say he obstructed House impeachment inquiry

Can we gather that if 57/58% agree there were major shenanigans, but only 51% believe he should be removed is because x% of those polled are waiting to see what happens first in the trial?

Re: POTUS: It Can Happen Here Again

'I've given up on your president': Putin revealed contempt for Obama in 2013

I'm not too familiar with the WE, but from viewing several other linked titles I think it's fair to see this dips**t thinks this is an indictment of Obama and/or a notch in Trump's belt?

"I've given up on your president," Putin said to then-Exxon chief Rex Tillerson, who would later become President Trump's secretary of state. "I'll wait for your next president and see if I can get along with him."

Less than a year into Obama's second term, the U.S.-Russia relationship was frayed. The U.S. had annulled a bilateral meeting with Putin, a rebuke of Russia's move to grant asylum to Edward Snowden, the National Security Agency contractor who disclosed top-secret American surveillance programs. The "reset" that the Cold War adversaries had declared shortly after Obama took office was coming to an end, hastened by the summit's cancellation.

As Tillerson later would tell Trump, "The only thing Putin understands is truth and power," part of a long game seeking to destabilize and remake the post-World War II order. Putin, Tillerson said, "wakes up every morning asking, 'Where is America having problems? Let's go there now and make it worse.'"

"You know I never cared much for that FDR. Couldn't he and Hitler just get along?"

I'd say both that and some people figure the best way to get rid of him is through the upcoming election.

I would think some smart people would be able to figure out how the poll directly correlates to the electoral college. Cause that's what is needed here. Both Gore and Clinton won the popular vote. It didn't matter. And any calculus (especially in the Senate) is going to come from the Electoral College and the majorities ability to win.

I think that ~7% are people that will invariably vote for Trump this time. They know he's a **** up. They know he did something wrong. They don't care. They think he's better than socialism.

Or they see the Dems unable to unite around anyone, so they default to the incumbent because the economy is good.

Rudy Giuliani’s son Andrew gets $90,700 a year as Sports Liaison for the White House. His job is coordinating professional athletes visiting Trump. His relevant experience? He golfs.

Don't forget Ivanka and Jared but, but, but Hunter!!

But Malia got an internship that one time, that’s just as bad!

How about we wait to throw him in the volcano until after he convinces enough disgruntled republicans it's ok to vote against the GOP this election cycle?

I'm not sure that's 100% right, but it's very close. I think both Kristol and Conway are smart enough to realize that if a Republican can pull this off, there's no reason a Democrat can't eventually do the same: National HCP; Ban assault weapons; wealth taxes; expand social security; etc.

I don't think people are irredeemable. David Frum seems to have finally been slapped hard enough to realize the GOP was wrong about the wealth gap, environment, and a few other issues. The problem we have today with politics is the tents are too small. Expand the tents, make a broader coalition welcome, and you'll get more of what you want.

Sure, you won't get all, but that's a stupid daydream that shouldn't be entertained by anyone over the age of 7.

Re: POTUS: It Can Happen Here Again

I'll welcome Kristol's help but I think once the Chump era is over his politics differ too much from the Dems for him to have any role. Its like wanting Bolton to testify. I'm all for it if he tells the truth and uncovers the whole treasonous plot but once that's over and done with I don't expect to see eye to eye with him on anything afterwards.

Please, trix is at least 10. Only another couple of years until his balls drop and he starts thinking it's OK to bring girls to Bernie's treehouse!

It comes down to intellect. Francis Fukuyama repented immediately upon being lumped in with these swine. David Stockman has spent the second half of his career trying to extinguish the holocaust of human misery he ignited under Reagan. Frum saw the light. There are a few others.

But the vast, vast majority are either stupid or corrupt. Newt Gingrich is an imbecile. Dick Cheney is whip smart and diseased to the core. "You'll never get Matt and Mr Fabulous outta them high paying gigs."

Re: POTUS: It Can Happen Here Again

Turtle Boy keeps saying they're following the Clinton Impeachment. More hypocrisy found. It's quite amazing, really.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Breaking News: Mitch McConnell unveiled rules for the impeachment trial that would hurry the proceeding and would not admit the House evidence without a vote.<a href="https://t.co/fdahQAC7NE">https://t.co/fdahQAC7NE</a></p>— The New York Times (@nytimes) <a href="https://twitter.com/nytimes/status/1219409828705161216?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">January 21, 2020</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Read the key part. "and would not admit the House evidence without a vote". That means that 51 Senators can block the evidence from the Grand Jury/Investigation part of the process entirely. An easy way to dismiss the charges without actually dismissing the charges. The House evidence was admitted in the Clinton Impeachment without a problem.

Sneaky ****.
