A central figure in the conspiracy claims is former Democratic National Committee consultant Alexandra Chalupa. A January 2017 Politico article revealed that Chalupa raised early concerns about former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort's close connections with Russia before he joined the campaign. However, the information Chalupa is thought to have shared was publicly available. The article stopped short of claiming anything in support of the conspiracy, saying there was "little evidence" of a "top down" effort to harm the Trump campaign.

Does anyone have a count of how many times Republicans brought up Chalupa during the House Intelligence Committee Impeachment Hearings? It had to be 100's. And, this is a Senate (run by Republicans) investigation clearing Chalupa?

And yet we're still getting a 123 page Republican Impeachment Report clearing the President of any wrongdoing and not 1 single Senator will vote to convict?

Something doesn't square here. Why is the Senate not "going" with the House on the conspiracy? Senator Kennedy certainly has, in fact I heard he was sticking to his guns last night.

Intelligence Committee Chairman Sen. Richard Burr (R-N.C.) vowed to thoroughly investigate allegations of collusion by "either campaign" in 2017. The investigation of alleged Democratic collusion with Ukraine appears to have been fruitless, if the report is true.

Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) doubled down Monday on his claim that Ukraine meddled in the 2016 election amid high-profile criticism of his remarks.

Kennedy, speaking to reporters in the basement of the Senate, pointed to news articles that he had printed out and was carrying along with handwritten notes.

"I based my comments to Chuck [Todd] on the reporting in the Politico magazine, on reporting in the Financial Times, The Economist, the Washington Examiner," Kennedy said. "You can get copies if you'd like from the office."

Kennedy read passages from a 2016 Financial Times article headlined "Ukraine’s leaders campaign against 'pro-Putin' Trump." He also referenced a headline from a 2018 New York Times story titled "Ukraine Court Rules Manafort Disclosure Caused 'Meddling' in U.S. Election."

The New York Times reported that a Ukrainian court found that officials broke the law when they disclosed alleged payments from a pro-Russia party in Ukraine to Paul Manafort, Trump's former campaign manager. The Ukraine district court, according to The New York Times, found that the violation "resulted in meddling in the electoral process of the United States."

If I remember correctly the only reason Ukraine was "on Clinton's side" in the election is because Trump campaigned on "giving, letting them have it" Crimea to Russia.

Throw him in jail. He wouldn't be the first AG to spend time in prison.

In fact, the Nixon admin is a good precedent. Most of his cabinet and other acolytes cooled their jets in the House of Striped Sunshine after he resigned. Same thing applies here to Barr, Pompeo, Giuliani, etc.

If I remember correctly the only reason Ukraine was "on Clinton's side" in the election is because Trump campaigned on "giving, letting them have it" Crimea to Russia.

And it wasn't "Ukraine". Some Ukranian politician wrote an op-ed critical of Trump leaving Crimea to Russia, and somehow, the ledger detailing Russia's payments to Manafort turned up.

Hardly a concerted government effort.

Edit: One of the Twitter comments "I think Macron switches to French when he does not want Trump to understand his comments. Trump has a hard enough time with simple concepts, but when he has to grasp meaning via the translator, his answers are even more simplistic and sound even less informed."
