Re: POTUS Elect Trump II: We Are So Totally F%*#ed

Meanwhile the new Secretary of State is already working on starting a war.

Good plan.

One of the very minute number of things I don't hate about Trump is his willingness to reign in China's territorial ambitions. I don't think it'll lead to war (mostly because their government is more pragmatic than ours), but Trump/Tillerson's thin-skinned bluster will give them serious pause on continuing to claim vast international waters as New China. Obama's most glaring weakness meets Trump's irresponsible bravado and actually makes the latter look less terrible than he would otherwise.

Yeah, if liberals weren't such lazy asses he wouldn't even be in there.

Honestly I'd probably blame Dem leadership before I blame a bunch of individuals for all independently making the decision to not vote. Kinda like I would blame banking execs, politicians, and regulatory agencies for the financial crisis rather than the people who were dumb enough to think they could afford a million dollar house on a less than middle class wage.

Oh, really? So, Trump is President soon and his numbers are tanking. Seems the same people that were too lazy to vote aren't too lazy to tell everyone he sucks. Makes a lot of sense.

Running around waving your dick in the air is not leadership. I don't know why people buy the whole "must be strongman, ugh!" act. Dubya acted tough, and there is no one who was more cowardly and craven.

Yup.

And given that California is the world's eighth largest economy, maybe the rest of the country should've listened...

I like the whole argument that her popular vote victory doesn't mean anything since it's only due to the votes of the largest and most economically powerful state in the nation, and really who cares what that state thinks!

Along those lines, if you ignore the points the other team scored, Stanford is undefeated this year!

Re: POTUS Elect Trump II: We Are So Totally F%*#ed

It is a travesty that this woman was not offered a cabinet post.

North Idaho Republican Heather Scott is one of your super-conservative Idaho legislators. The kind who worries that the state’s compliance with federal child support guidelines is the first step toward sharia law taking over, for instance. She carries a gun at all times, because you never know when a shootout might break out at the Capitol building. And now she’s had all her committee assignments taken away just because she spoke her mind about women in the Idaho legislature, saying at a December organizational session that women only get leadership positions if they “spread their legs.”

It probably wasn’t the smartest thing to say to Rep. Judy Boyle, a fellow Republican who’d just been appointed chair of the House Agriculture Committee.

Rep. Scott is not always what you’d call the coolest head in the Idaho lege. Rep. Christy Perry, of Nampa, and also a Republican (it’s Idaho), submitted a letter to Speaker Scott Bedke Wednesday complaining of Scott’s “paranoid and aggressive behavior,” which included an incident in which Scott damaged a fire sensor in a House caucus room. Scott thought it was a listening device installed to spy on legislators, so she busted it, as one does.

Well I agree that they should've voted. That's not really the point though.

Re: POTUS Elect Trump II: We Are So Totally F%*#ed

That they didn't vote is certainly on them but the people who should've done a better job of ensuring they vote and generating excitement, deserve more blame than them, is the point. Having a corporate shill centrist who realistically wasn't going to fix any of the bigger economic issues we face, combined with this "safe" strategy where it's assumed that they have it in the bag, is more deserving of blame. Just like the example I cited.
