If only we had some sort of voting process among the party to determine that person. It would occur before the main election, so it would be like a primary election before the secondary election, if you will.

Sounds like a good idea, but I'll bet the establishment would just step in and hack the process in favor of their candidate.

Won't happen. Lefty voters are just going to have to outnumber by huge margins because they will always have people crying about the nominee. Always. This election proves more than any other how the righties will vote for anyone as long as it's affiliated with their party.

This is probably true. The left has too many groups (minorities, poor, young) who typically vote at lower rates unless there's an extenuating circumstance.

Although... if we really do keep on this process of mitosis where the uneducated keep moving to the right and the educated keep moving to the left, the demographics will eventually step in.

You're right but the polling definitely screwed up when it came to WI, Mich, FL, and some of the other swing states.

Doubt it. Pretty sure all were within the margin of error. Just because most people will disregard the margin of error when touting numbers, doesn't mean the numbers were wrong.

Don't buy this at all. Obama won over half the states twice, and Dems held the Senate from 2007-2015. Problem is Dems got lazy in a lot of places in mid term elections. Remains to be seen if that continues to 2018 when a bevy of states have elections.

Maybe, but I think a lot of people on the Dem side are tired of politicians who aren't progressive and are really just centrist corporate shills that have no interest in actually fixing the problems that have affected our economy (people hiding their money overseas to avoid paying taxes, prosecuting those who caused the financial crisis/fixing the regulations that caused it)..

You mean, people like Corey Booker, and the 13 other Democrats who just this week sided with Republicans and voted against being able to import cheaper drugs from Canada?

Trump's team has also ordered all politically appointed diplomats to leave their posts by Inauguration Day, breaking with tradition of allowing some ambassadors to stay on as their children finish out the school year.

In the meantime, all those diplomatic posts will remain empty until new people are appointed to take their place. Yeah, that helps your foreign policy to function well. That is, assuming you want foreign policy to function.

According to Maplight, a website that tracks political donations, every single Democratic senator who voted "nay" on the amendment has at some time received a significant donation from "pharmaceutical manufacturing" interests. Among all senators, Cory Booker has received the third highest amount of donations from pharma interests: $267,338.

My apologies if this is a repeat of an earlier post. DC-area diner sells "Golden Showers" burger as a one-day event.

Mark Bucher, owner of Community restaurant in Bethesda, Md., told Fox News.com that hisTrump-inspired “Golden Showers” burger was “completely non-partisan” and says it's “just a joke.”

The burger combo, (officially sold for just one day on Wednesday) included a beef patty topped with yellow “self-tanning” cheddar cheese, a heavy dose of yellow mustard-- and a tiny pickle topper. The dish was served with a fresh glass of lemonade.

I think this is because there was word that Comey had information about Trump campaign people having ties to Russia before the election, but he sat on that info, so as not to influence the election outcome. Yet, at the same time, he was sending his letter to Congress about Hillary's emailz. This briefing probably confirmed that.
