Infowars is behind the times by a few weeks now. Your fake news sites, Col. Flagg, are having a hard time discerning the truth from other less-fake news sites.

Oh, you mean the fake news from the Mainstream Media that gets people killed in the Middle East, or cops killed from BLM protests, or incites riots when Trump wins the election?

You miss my point. I have no problem with "happy holidays", or whatever else anyone wants to say. Flaggy was ranting about people making political issues out of otherwise benign statements, when it's the tards like him who get all ruffled about the so-called War on Christmas.

GWB had Katrina, 9/11 and two wars. Wars are expensive. He financed it without raising taxes (which he could have gotten away with as a "war tax surcharge"). Of course his debt went kaboom!

Katrina should have been handled with the "Gulf Coast Redevelopment Authority" that should have been in charge of fixing the mess and have the authority to issue tax free bonds to finance the recovery. The GCRA would have crossed agency lines and end turf battles.

Oh well.

What point are you trying to argue here? That these should excuse Bush's spending? Because only one of those was out of his control. 9/11 didn't really cost the government that much.

He chose the two wars. He CHOSE the two wars.

He financed them while cutting taxes on millionaires. Of course the debt went kaboom.

But tax cuts are supposed to increase tax revenues.

No, my beef is he ran up the debt and got nothing to show for it except almost ruining the entire global economy. Obama may have run up debt, not as much as Bush, but he saved GM and Chrysler, brought the economy out of the worst recession since the Great Depression, got 20 million fewer uninsured, a record stock exchange, and 60+ months of positive job growth numbers.

Sometimes, when you increase debt, you get something out of it, like a college education or a house, or a strong growing economy. And sometimes you just spend a lot of money.

Stuff like this makes me feel blessed to be a remote employee. I hope your office manager is just a glorified secretary and doesn't have any direct reports, because if they do, they're showing textbook poor management skills.

He saved GM and Chrysler by violating the bankruptcy laws (who gets paid first) and had a friendly court cover for him. Anybody who studied how bankruptcies are supposed to work looked at what the administration did in horror.

The economy was going to recover anyway. It always has. Plus the outgoing administration gave us shovel ready projects (!?) and cash for clunkers which almost destroyed the used car industry.

I've always thought this administration was long on theory and short on practicality. Hopefully the new administration is pragmatic rather than theoretical.

The economy was "just going to recover on its' own" if 1.2 million people in the auto industry had lost their jobs like they were supposed to? You're a ****ing moron.

The economy would recover, but only when the government decided to step in. If Obama didn't take the measures he did, we'd probably be looking at a second Great Depression. It may have taken the better part of a decade instead of four years.

It was the government not stepping in that turned a bad recession into the Great Depression. It wasn't fixed until they were pulled out of it by FDR and eventually WWII.
