Drew may be right - which was kind of my original point. If pinned, the right will reiterate the same set of usual positions - abortion, small government, blah, blah. But in reality the right doesn't seem too concerned with the issues...if the issues change, no matter. They elect Trump because he talks to supporting the disenfranchised. Trump pulls a 180 and supports wealthy instead. His supporters don't care. He potentially drops many of his other positions - the establishment conservatives may care - but by and large, the right will support him no matter what. Why? Because they hate the left. And that's what they stand for.
Righto. The DFL in Minnesota has cleverly turned the state into a differentiated dynamo.
Its rather simple. If we were a low tax state with cheap, crappy infrastructure, we would be competing with Texas and Arizona. Problem is we're total fly over land...with terrible climate. We would get our butt handed to us. In kind of the way that Wisconsin, Ohio, etc are finding out. So rather than that, we've cleverly positioned ourselves upscale. With high taxes, and excellent services/infrastructure. Minnesota is not Walmart, we're Macy's. And by all the business rankings, its working. Other states have been studying what we're doing here and trying to replicate the model. Good luck with that.
