I think everyone has their own views and none are any more or less correct than anyone else's(for the most part.) I'm completely fine with people having views different than mine, you and others obviously feel differently.

A guy like Obama is going to go in and appoint a bureaucrat who has worked with public housing probably since he got out of college. He may even be one of the top two or three guys in HUD right now. This person will have a very specific idea of what HUD can do, maybe should do, or maybe should not do. That, coupled with whatever the President's own agenda is on public housing, will become the agenda for public housing programs during the term. It might be something like a shift from multi-family public housing facilities to single family public housing facilities, or whatever. But whatever it is, it's going to be an attempt to change HUD from what it is today into something different, slight or otherwise, in a way the administration figures is better.
Carson isn't going to have an agenda for HUD. I'm not sure he even knows where the office is located. I can't imagine Trump has an agenda for HUD, unless there is a way to make a buck off it.
So instead, Carson will take the position with a directive to his staff like "carry on", then collect his paycheck. If something goes comes up, or goes wrong, they'll then have to figure out what to do.
But I can't imagine that Trump and Carson sat down and had a conversation that included questions like, "what is your vision for public housing in the next four years?"
I think what we'll see with the Trump cabinet, as opposed to the cabinet of someone like Obama, is the difference between a proactive and reactive cabinet.

And the left is the ultimate arbitrator of what is true and untrue? The vast majority of my posts are opinion and prediction, neither of which are matters of fact or fiction. You and others would do well to front up to the fact that you have a tough time disagreeing with those whose opinions are different than your own.

That sure worked out well for FEMA when Dubya did that...I wonder if the 9th Ward has electricity yet?
The problem with BS appointments like that is if anything goes wrong there is no one in charge who knows how to fix it.
Look I am not disparaging Carson...I may think he would be a horrid president but he is obviously a great surgeon. I have to think there is a department that is better suited for him to lead and collect his paycheck at. Perhaps one where, if pressed, he might be able to call back to his medical education and give some expertise.

So some conservative, help me here.
Why does it seem that the right's total reason for existing is to crush the left? The left is about creating a positive, forward looking society (i.e., platforms like the ACA and gay marriage)...the right's ultimate goal is to not to advance its own povs, but really destroy the left itself even if it means cozying up to the US worst enemies.
Also, why are all the views of the right just counterviews of the left - whatever the left decides its behind, the right takes the opposite point of view? Unless there is something to react to...the right seems rudderless.

Because the right is a lie. The left is the powerless organizing against the powerful. The right is a set of thought-terminating cliches in the service of destroying any opposition to the powerful, because so far it has not been cost effective for the powerful to use blatant violence. In situations in which it is cost effective, like dealing with racial minorities, the powerful just take the straightforward approach.
