Re: POTUS: Definitely Needs Anger Management

Amazed that CNN let her slip away. Was she asking for too much money? :D

Can't be Fox, she isn't blonde.

She's actually starting to age out. There was a time when OMG.

Re: POTUS: Definitely Needs Anger Management

It has its usefulness, but that's going to require some deep thinking on your part Scoobs which I'm not 100% certain you're capable of! Senate trial gets wall to wall coverage, re-enforcing to all non-cult members the total corruption and Putin humping of the Chump administration. Republicans will most likely all vote in lockstep because, again, its a cult.

Fast forward to November. Cory Gardner and Susan Collins NEED Democratic votes to get re-elected, the same Dems who are like 99% in favor of Chump's impeachment. At the very least McSally and Tillis need Dem intensity to not match GOP intensity. A Chump acquittal makes the opposite more likely. For Dem voters, if you can't get him via a Senate conviction, the next opportunity to take him down will be 9 months later on Election Day. I'm guessing they aren't going to pass that chance up.

This is a point that isn't lost on Nancy Pelosi. This was her plan all along. The Ukraine thing was having a diamond drop in your lap at the exact time you said, "I need some money". The fact that the timing worked out so wonderfully is going to be something historians chuckle about for decades.

But what she didn't want to do was wait for the impeachment stain to fade well in advance of the election. The impeachment was the first shot. You either impeach and convict the motherf----ker or you lose narrowly and invigorate your base. Potentially taking two of the branches of government. This is a masterclass.

Dear Mr. Trump,

Attached is a letter we received on December 17th, 2019. I feel that you should be aware that some ******* is singing your name to stupid letters.

Very truly yours,
Nancy Pelosi

All she had to do was see the return address and she knew she could safely roll her eyes.

(That said, it's still one of my favorite reply letters in history)

Edit: HOLY SH--T, that impeachment letter is... bonkers

Leave it a bunch of formerish GOP members to do something far more intelligent than Bloomberg or Steyer.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news...i-trump-lincoln-project-super-pac/2672990001/

This is good for a couple reasons.
1. It's the first time a major PAC is formed by conservatives to defeat trump. It breaks down that barrier and might pave the way for others to do the same.
2. It provides a way for conservatives too cowardly to show their face, to secretly funnel money to a Super PAC instead of just writing nameless op-eds.
3. It's actual money on the ground.
4. It makes trump fight a money war on two fronts.
5. It means there's some hope for some conservatives. I hope.

Yes. This is an excellent strategy.

To your point about Bloomberg and Steyer, if they actually cared about our country and weren't ego tripping at the gates of hell, they'd set up a Democratic war chest with a few billion from their couch cushions, stay out of the primaries, and just push every Dem nominee. Give them a percentage pro-rated to their Dem voting record on a set of 7 or 8 key votes. :-)

She was always that way. Some pictures, she was hawt as fuk, other ones, she was ugggghh. Doesn't matter, cause in 15-20 years, she's gonna look like her Russian grandfather.

But back to us winning. How do you win in the courts when they control the courts?

Re: POTUS: Definitely Needs Anger Management

How problematic are these FISA reports condemning the FBI's handling of warrants, etc. that lead to the investigation?

It’s bad but possibly in a way that will lead to reforms. Snowden lead to some reforms. They also started tracking how many of these they deny or send back for revision due to a report in the WaPo years ago, IIRC. I’m hoping this is the warning the court needed to start taking that responsibility far more seriously. They should be extremely skeptical of every request that comes across the table. Maybe this will make them rethink how they review these documents. Make the government actually prove some things before approving the requests.

I was curious enough to go read through the Wiki on the court itself. Interesting.

As for the impeachment, I don’t think this is exculpatory. But it’s a pretty effective taking point to someone who doesn’t understand what the reports actually say.

Depends on how you read it. If you read it like Trump and his minions then the FBI was "spying" on you and the Russia investigation was started under false pretenses. If you read the report like I did then you conclude that the investigation was started under correct intent but there was some shenanigans regarding the process to obtain the FISA warrants on Carter Page.

My conclusion is nuanced and balances both sides. Trump's conclusion is insane.

Re: POTUS: Definitely Needs Anger Management

This morning Smerconish actually said “Trump masterfully crafted that letter.”

My god he’s a moron.
