Re: POTUS: A Sharpie Is Always Needed

https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a...sions-honda-bmw-ford-vw-investigation-dropped

Last September, the Justice Department began an antitrust inquiry into BMW, Ford, Honda, and Volkswagen because they sided with California's emissions standards after the Trump administration decided to roll back national fuel-economy standards.

The New York Times and other papers are reporting this afternoon that the Justice Department has dropped its inquiry into the automakers, deciding that they have violated no laws.

The dustup began after Trump rolled back emissions and efficiency standards and declared that California should not be able to set its own standards. The states has had a waiver in place since the implementation of the Clean Air Act in 1970 that allows it to set its own emissions rules. No other state has that power, but they can voluntarily follow California’s lead.

Translation: they realized it was dumb even by their standards.

Outside of the Portland area and Eugene area, Oregon as a whole is like Eastern Oregon. The speed limit being 65 on I-5 between Portland and Eugene is the most cruel punishment any state government has come up with.

This is wrong enough that I question whether you've actually been to Oregon.

There are red dumbf-ck areas in OR outside of Malheur, but they are far from the norm. In fact except for a few rundown old lumber towns, OR east of the Cascades is now dependably blue and civilized. Stick to Seattle.

What if the Secret Service(and the army) worship him as much as the rest of the cult does? What then?

If that were to be the case, we're all fvcked. I don't think that is the case. Yet. Senior military and federal law enforcement functionaries still believe in and abide by the constitution, more or less. These are people who decided on careers before trump was even a reality TV personality. I think the bigger issue will be what does trump do in 2024 if he wins this year, than what he'll do in 2020 if his opponent is the apparent winner.

The look on the faces of the joint chiefs was comical during the SOTU

I’ve made the drive a hundred times dude, have family in Eugene and Florence, I’ve seen it upfront with my own eyes. Start getting outside the major population zones and it gets pretty red, pretty quick. The amount of Trump signs I saw was more than what I saw up here in Alaska.

So, where's his taxes? Why do we have a Muslim ban? How's that emoluments thing going, anyhow? Don McGhan testify yet?

You think a loss or a win in court has immediate consequences like that? He'll appeal it to the end. Like anyone with the means would. It's still a false narrative to say he doesn't lose.

So, that means he hasn't lost yet.

When his taxes get turned over, that mean he's lost. When McGahn and Bolton testify, that means he's lost.

No...not how that works.
Losing the case is still losing.
Just like acquittal doesn't mean innocent or that he wasn't impeached.

As long as he's tying whatever up in the courts, he's not losing.

Would love to see the numbers after he screwed the Vindmans so publicly and fomented a campaign of character assassination on people who served honorably.
